SandeepMotta
And after every one of these innings his PR would flood social media with his innings from 2011 world cup which btw was his only decent contribution in the whole world cup but he took all the credit for the world cup. Also, let's never forget how he pretty much ruined our test team during that phase. Keep his politician away from the Indian team. dilliboy, Bigg Brother, maniac and 5 others 8 Link to comment

Jamadagni
Took a decade to score first 50 despite playing every T20I this record will never get broken like Sachin's 100 centuries. Bigg Brother, adi B and speedheat 3 Link to comment
bharathh
I agree with everything here.. That said - the 2007 WC win was awesome. Wouldn't have happened under anyone else IMO. Also, from ~2005-2012 he was the most dependable batsman in the middle order in any team. Mariyam and AuxiliA 2 Link to comment
bharathh
Also, I find that heroes in India always go through a trajectory in India. Dravid was perhaps one to buck the trend where he was villanized early in his career rather than later. Sachin, Ganguly, Dhoni, now Kohli - as Harvey Dent says in the Dark Knight. You die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. Dhoni was a great man who scaled many heights in the cricketing world that were unimaginable for someone not from Bombay or some other powerhouse in Indian cricket. He caused his own downfall by trying to impose himself on the game when it was apparent that it had left him. Shouldn't take away from his greatness when he really was great. Link to comment

Dhoni's t20 record is not something to brag about nor will he but how many 50s are possible in t20s that too coming in at 5/6. looks like you are butthurt about midget's 100th century scored at a selfish rate lower than others in the team resulting in a loss to then minnows bang bros Don't be salty SandeepMotta and Laaloo 2 Link to comment

Pretty sure there must have been numerous opportunities for him to score quick 30s 40s...not even one impactful performance that deserved a MOM? Btw, how come he scored so many 50s for CSK by batting at similar position? Link to comment
adi B
He was a horrible t20 player In intl cricket. Led us in 5 disastrous Wt20s . We mix formats and leagues with Intl cricket Link to comment
Forever Indian
Captaincy LOIs - Was our most successful captain in LOIs, no question about it - Won World T20, World Cup, Champions Trophy (in different countries - SA, India, England). Tests - Obviously he is behind atleast Kohli in terms of results but did win series in NZ (2009), Drew in SA (2012). Also had very bad runs in Eng and Aus which was probably his biggest black mark in Test captaincy, but he was good most part of his initial 6 years captaincy Wicketkeeper Batsman We must remember that he was a WK-Bat and not a fulltime Batsman and his runs should be compared as such. He played in all 3 formats for 8 years or so, and it is clear how Sangakkara's batting improved a lot after giving up Keeping. He was one of the best ODI batsman for a good 6 to 7 years, and in Tests did an alright job. In T20s he usually came in with lesser balls so there is no point measuring on basis of 50s as he does average 38 at 126SR (SR defenitely got lower through last few years of his career when he was Tuk-tuking) Link to comment

Sachin was struggling for timing since ball 1, can happen to anyone. If we cannot defend 290+ against bangla, its the captains fault, no other country will allow bang bros to chase 290+ In fact, that is banglas 2nd highest chase ever against a non minnow, apart from NZ and india, no other non minnow team has allowed bangla to ever chase ocer 251 (highest chase against pak is 251) Highest chase against england for bangla = 227, south africa = 170, sri lanka = 213, England = 250, pakistan = 251 And we let them chase 293 Edited September 9, 2021 by New guy Link to comment
