Difference is the bounce. 88 kph low bounce is different than 90 kph high bounce. There is few kph difference is there for sure between the two.

Bit of speculation on my part, but I feel Prasad's selection philosophy was influenced by his personal experience as a player, where he didn't get another shot after his short India stint.  And he ended up giving 'second' chances to Ranji pros who'd been around forever.  Instead of prioritizing talent and team-building with the future in mind. 

 

Sharma seems to be free of such baggage - at least so far.

Only 3 seamers is very odd, otherwise decent squad.

We need to remember seamers play more important part on UAE pitches than Indian pitches because UAE pitches are two paced.
