Glad you asked. Botham, Imran and kallis were statstical anamolies. These are generational players and it seldom happens often. Like I have repeated it multiple times If Kapil is the only Indian name you can come up with then you are losing this arguement. One in 100 years . I dont think kapil breaks into current Indian lineup though.

Just wondering why we don't see such players anymore? Too much workload? Kapil in tests? He gets in over thakur at 7 or 8 comfortably although thakur himself is no slouch. He is damn good and underrated. Ben stokes is the closest we have at present. If you notice all those great all rounders have one thing in common. They are all top athletes. Like cream of the crop tier athletes.

My uncle had a Toyota Kalis around the turn of the millennium. Didn't break down much. Was useful for city driving and for trips to Pune/Gujarat. Police use(d) it a fair bit too. As did Call centres. All round vehicle. Adamant, Number, Chakdephatte and 1 other 3 1

Some dont realize it. Yes totally agreed. Back in those times, there were like 4 -6 athletes apart from West Indies team. So it was easy to look elite but now almost every team has proper athletes. India has 6 7 proper athletes. India were such an unfit team in 90s and 80s. Weak players. Malnourished infact. Poor stamina. Etc. Pak thrived on such situations to take advantage of weak version of indian side. Then 2000 era changed the entries outlook of the battle between the two nations. Post 2010 we have just left them for dead. One fluke 2017 win doesn't mean much. Even we belted paks in 90s and 80s during ICC Tournaments with a weak team. Edited September 28, 2021 by Jay

Even Avesh Khan would be massive upgrade over him that's how dire the situation is. As far as Hardik goes closest replacement to him is Venky Iyer. If he can bowl 2-3 overs & score 20-25 runs at a brisk rate then should be considered as an X factor pick. Hardik's fitness looks dodgy still. Shardul/ D Chahar should come in for Bhuvi to provide batting & bowling depth. In case you leave Hardik out.. You have to re balance the lower oder completely. Bhuvi has to go either way.
