Did Hardik Pandya deserve to get picked in T20 world cup side?

Looks like still not fit and did not play the 1st two games in IPL.

 

Did play today but not bowled a single ball and could manage to get only 2 runs.

 

He flopped badly in the Srilanka series too.

 

Not sure how can selectors pick him in world cup side as an all rounder.

He doesn't need to bowl 4 overs. He is a sixth bowler in the side.

 

I agree that he was hyped to the moon based on his potential level but unless someone has a poor day with bowl, he doesn't really need to bowl anything more than 2 overs. If I will worry of one thing, then it is his hitting ability which is a serious concern on these pitches.

Hardik Pandya is not very dissimilar to Vinod Kambli  in many many aspects - attitude being the most important one.

 

I would any day of the week have Shardul Thakur in my team ahead of this guy.

Absolutely not, thakur and chahar deserve spot in xi than this clown.

I'd rather have Thakur at 6 than Pandya. We should have groomed one of Tewatia, Parag, Samad, Harshal etc for no.6 instead of giving one chance after other to Pandey..

Kambli managed to avg 54 in test cricket, this guy hasn't done anything noteworthy.

Now some lallu will come in and tell us how he is important for us in t20 WC, 

But the fact is how is he even getting selected? What has he done this year? Even his t20 record is poor, not even one 50, ghatiya bowling record. 

 

He needs to prove that he is fit before t20 Wc, otherwise BCCI should just dump him and forget that a player named Hardik ever existed.

What we need is Pandya we saw in Australia. He was calm in control most of the time. Given his current struggles with fitness I am unsure how he got selected unless he picked up something during nets which MI is not disclosing.

His back is too weak & he lacks muscle mass & needed some high amount of strength & conditioning.  He can't have a decent career with those drawbacks

He never deserved to be n any Indian team. Bowling fast does not make you a bowler. You need variation also.

He is probably best in terms of variations but he has hardly played anything. I don't know on what basis he is going to play.

Ind’s best lower middle order batsman. If you do not pick SDP, there is no zing in Ind team 

If you want to see a team of boring cricketers like Rohit, Kohli, KL, etc., seeking to play a 40 ball 50, Ind can’t complain if it do not win ICC events (probably deserves not to win those)

If we pick him there still won't be any zing in the team coz he would be sitting out due to a niggle he got when pressing controller buttons while playing Fifa online.

150-160 are going to be winning totals in this wc. 40 ball 50 is going to be good.
