Nearly 3000 crs were at stake for the BCCI on this phase 2 of IPL. Despite so many challenges, they have managed to put together a great show with today's final being truly a grand one. In phase 1 back in April, so many including some jokers on this forum (not surprisingly settled outside India and perhaps not even holding Indian passports any longer), and on social media in general, out of their sheer hate for IPL, did everything they could to derail the tournament (wish we could bump some of those old threads). If it was upto this gang, they would rather kill the IPL altogether. Quite clearly, anything good coming out of the BCCI is an anathema for them. Thankfully, BCCI knows the importance of IPL and the financial worth it has. Good on them to have stuck to their task despite threats of foreign players not being available, tournament being seen intruding into the T20WC, ICC playing tricks trying to take away hosting rights for the WC etc. While quality of pitches should have been better, overall it has been a great tournament especially for our youngsters. Now onto the two new teams and auctions early next year. Well done BCCI and thank you once again for having the best T20 product globally.
