Once removed from captaincy, at most grace period will be given for 2-3 series. If he continues to fail as a batsman, the knives will be out in full force and Kohli will crumble under the pressure.

Yes and also when he was captain for KKR or few times he captained India he was very calm under pressure as well. In fact the only time he got aggressive was when someone needled  him or his team members. Not a wimp like Kohli.

Gambhir highlighted that the pressure on India and New Zealand was similar with regards to their position in the tournament as he argued that despite such a situation, Kiwi skipper Williamson's calmness had a more positive impact on his teammates than Kohli's enthusiasm had on Indian players.

"Kane doesn't react to everything but look at the calmness. Sometimes in these crunch games, it's your calmness that's much more important than probably your enthusiasm or reaction to everything," added Gambhir.

what pot & kettle? GG was one of the most clutch players for Ind. 2011 WC final, 2007 WT20 final, and 2 golden test yrs in all kinds of conditions. Choker Rat-Boi has done virtually zilch in ODI WC knock outs

Unfortunately Gambhir got to lead India only in a few matches (won all 6 ODIs, albeit at home). Would have made a fantastic leader. Compare his mostly calm demeanor in those matches or in IPL where he turned around KKR's fortunes to captain Kohli's clownish actions.
