Thisis what kills ind pace bowling ,bowl wide outside off to a packed off side field and wait for the batsmen to make a mistake.

Golam Mustafa is going to be their biggest find, even bigger than Shami.

He maybe talented and a hard worker but I won't jump the gun so quickly, you could say taskin ahmed was a better find than shami but shami bhai has taken a lot of wickets and worked very hard ,has completely transformed himself physically over the years through a lot of upheavals and uncertainties,he is a very courageous and tough man.

Find is different than career. Shami was a great find and also had a great career.

Yes but what is the time frame of this grooming? 1 year, 2 years? Why not groom Sakaria types ( to become faster ) and give chance to the express bowlers earlier?

I think there has to be pre-planning regarding the career path of an identified genuine fast bowler.

If he is identified at U19 level then it's best.  In such a case ...

.. Start playing him in Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare as soon as possible.

.. Strength and conditioning training at the NCA.

.. Play him for India A by age 21.

.. If he is good then debut for India by age 22 to 23 at the latest.

If he is a later find like Umran or N.Kohli then he has to be fast tracked.

.. Immediately play him in as many Ranji matches as possible. SMAT and VHT too.

.. Strength and conditioning traning at the NCA

.. Play him for India A within 6 months if good

.. Debut in T20Is as quickly as possible if he is good.

.. Test debut, if he is suitable for tests, within 2 years of discovery.

I think it is very important to try at least one young quick bowler in every low key test match or LOI. This includes test matches against weak teams and low key bilateral LOIs.

Depressing scenario.

Coach excited by a supposed 120 kph pacer who gets a bit of extra skid off the deck. Waqar said no but he insisted.

Objective seems to be to find medium pacers who can take a few Ranji wickets.

So disappointing to see Shahin, Mavi and Nagarkoti starting their career in U19 where both Mavi nd Nagar were faster and better then Shahin and now look where all 3 are, 2 struggling with injuries while the latter is among top 5 fast bowlers in the world.

Shahin was always a better prospect because of his build.

Mavi is well built too.

Could have been a fast bowler in Shami's mould.  Skiddy quick with a good bouncer.

Short height though he is developing fine. Will get better once he stays injury free for sometime. Needs to play India A from now on.

Arshdeep too has right tools to suceed a tall guy, keeps it tight swings it although he is 132-140 right now if he can bulk up a bit can easily be a 138-148 bowler which is more than enough

Shami has great seam presentation, he had natural bowling ability but tbh he has over achieved in terms of performance, lack of height or even pace wise shami was the not the quickest but he has had a solid career for himself, he should be a inspiration for shorter height bowlers in India but the error of margin for shami like bowlers is bare minimum, our  pacers in the 90s were all quite tall, stereotype was that India never had pacers in the 90s, I disagree we had pacers but they either lost steam, debuted late and never got their chance, ankola, razdan, a young kuruvila, prasant vaiyda were all good enough prospects.

Ranadeb Bose was like that. Used to run faster than he bowled. Still Mukesh isn't bad, much better than Ranadeb. Good for Ranji trophy level.

Ranadeb was like venkatesh Prasad and Mukesh is like joginder sharma

Mukesh is like Bhuvi, not joginder. Bowls mid 130s. Ishan porel is also like Venky. Akashdeep is their best at this point.

What has happened to the duo of Nagarkoti & Mavi? They much raved about a few years ago. Whereas Shaheen has made it to the top. All three played at the same U19 WC.

In general, Ind doesn't fasttrack bowlers to the international level like Pak does. Doesn't mean they are not developing.

They come into the selection radar once they perform in Ranji Trophy (4 day) and Vijay Hazare Trophy/Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (ODI/T20). They need to keep developing in this time to make it.
