I have no hope. Extreme pace has a very short shelf life. Jeff Thomson was incredible speed wise from 1974-76. Even before the Alan Turner collision - he had declined from that peak. That collision buried him. Dennis Lillee was an intimidating raw speedster from 1970-72 before the back injury. He came back and was still fast but nothing like 70-72. If you groom most fast bowlers for 3 years - you will be basically left holding a fast-medium product. That is just the way it is. Have to hope for the jackpot in the first few years. It won't come later. express bowling, Suhaan and New guy 3

rkt.india Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 South Africa me 3 spinners kyu? Unme se ek Gowtam.
Mesky99 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Lol and we were discussing how the next set of India A games will be important for the likes of prasidh, tyagi, mavi and co, the selectors only follow stats, non have eye for talent, sarfaraz will be a utter flop with his horrible technique, eventhough he has scored tons of runs in ranji trophy but he will be found out, happy for aparajith, consistent showings in ranji trophy, well deserved India A call up and panchal should bat at three, solid player at the peak of his game, lack of quality middle order batsmen is a worry, once we had the likes of Rohit, pujara, rahane, Manoj tiwary, Abhinav mukund all playing India a cricket together, now this.

Speaking of Saffies.... man in 2007 ODI WC, they left out a fiery young Dale Steyn from the team. Not enough skills and experience in ODIs they said. They picked a bunch of trundlers instead. Hayden was walking down the pitch to tonk them - esp Pollock. And they had Steyn back home watching on telly! raki05 and Suhaan 2
Lone Wolf Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Instead of Gowtham should have picked Abhishek Sharma. He has solid batting plus bowls decent left arm spin than Gowtham's fraud off spin. Batting ability is a different universe. But of course our selectors have no eye for Talent n potential. Actually surprised how they picked Umran raki05 1
QuarantineTormentino Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Why are we taking Rahul Chahar for this A tour? I thought it was common knowledge by now that leggies usually don’t do well in SENA lol. I can’t remember the last time any test team played a leg spinner in tests other than Pakistan, and Yasir has been terrible in SENA countries
Mesky99 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 The best left arm spinner in the country is Siddharth Desai from Gujarat and then sai Kishore, can't fault Saurabh thou he has done well for some time but he is just a roller, a inferior version of Nadeem, Desai is a big turner and consistently picks up 5 wicket hauls thou he has a suspect action, dhruv shorey could have got a look in and upendra again well deserved, him and jagadeeshan are on par in first class cricket. Chahar lucky to be there.

Sarfaraz has a very good technique. He was our best batter on bowling friendly pitches in u19 WC. Aparajit is no India material, has struggled in domestic cricket. Should have picked anmolpreet.

Which format you are talking here? Even an Umesh who basically has an outswing bowls well in tests thesedays Saini is done, his start was delayed, much tough to stage a comeback after a mauling at this age Bumrah is exception, not many bowlers have started like him If we start comparing every other newcomers early years with him we will definitely find no one better than trundlers ie they look safe bets Prasidh,Mavi should have been there raki05 1
rkt.india Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Bengalis are hell bent on forcing Ishan porel on us. I would rather have aakash deep from Bengal.

Actually surprised how they picked Umran Abhishek has to do something of note in first class cricket, slogging a few in Syed mushtaq Ali does not warrant a place in the India A team, a first class batting average of 25 and bowling average of 62 does not even warrant a place in the Nagaland ranji team, sai Kishore ahead of gowtham would made sense.

Sarfaraz has no technique, plays with low hands, a walking wicket against any half decent pacer, technique built to score runs on flat beds against 120kph pacers and left arm rollers, aparajith has great temperament and probably the third best player of spin in domestic cricket, I actually feel the selectors have mixed him up for inderajith, his brother who averages 50 in Fc.

ShoonyaSifar Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 As if 4 openers were not enough, we now have 5 FC openers in the squad! Sarfaraz and Aparajith are the only two middle order bats. Saini has another shot at resurrecting his career. Gill, Mayank, Bharat, Prasidh, Tyagi should all be there in the main test squad. Suhaan 1
