Kohli has been overused. Just look at amount of Workload Balancing being done.

I have allways been maintaining, fans do not understand scale of impact of Boardroom politics on players performance (specially bats). What Kohli has been doing to every young bat, Its time for him to repay. Hardik Pandya as captain wont work. There are plenty of serious reasons but I will stick to sporting reasons for now.

Bus has sailed on Kohli has a captain in any format.He needs to play just as a batsman in the team.He needs to have a good talk with Dravid ,Ganguly and Sachin.They all kept their egos aside once they lost their captaincy and became very good aides to their captains.

Try out someone new like SA did with Graeme Smith. Unfortunately all these veterans are milking existing spots.

 

I would have couple of series with sri Lanka, Bangladesh , Australia A and england A immediately to determine the next rung of young leaders and slowly push Kohli, Rohit, dhawan, panda and jadeja out.

 

Only 3 pure batsmen and only 2 pure bowlers . Rest should have proficiency in bowling / batting/ keeping. We might lose some but eventually will win the biggies. Our template means we just cannot have any off days either on batting or bowling which is impossible. The team that won 2011 WC had Sachin, sehwag, yuvraj who can roll their wrists  and Harbhajan and Zaheer who can smack the ball if need be.

 

This team is so one dimensional. No wonder we lose it. In IPL, grounds are small, 2 crap bowlers per team , so not the best indicator.

 

Tests we have better success as it requires specialists. oDIs and t20s require a completely different mindset and we are somewhere in stone age.

As per news report on ToI, Shashtri says, Kohli may give up captaincy in all formats and Concentrate on batting.
