Why is kohli playing only 1 test and resting for the other? I dont like this from the captain at all... Ideally he should fully rest or play both the tests. This is both immature and insecure behaviour

I dont think he will play. Just as a back up as 3 bowlers are rested. I am a bit unhappy about vihari omission and Iyer inclusion. Iyer would struggle in sena with short ball issues.

KS can play, Jayants selection quite baffling, gowtham has been the India A off spinner so naturally he would be next in line, selectors are clueless, saha still around? Wadkar should have played a few India A games by now.

Jadeja and ashwin, along with axar are very good for indian conditions, we can easily drop another batsman, iyer. 5 bowler at home is the thing that wins us matches.

Most interesting selection is Bharath. Although I am a bengali, I would like to say overcoming any regional bias that this should be end of line for Saha. He is a great keeper but cannot bat at the level of a international keeper. Soft 20 30s are not good enough. I really hope india gives gill a long term scope, somewhere in the top 3. They can consider playing pujara at 4, rahane at 5.

If even one of Pujara and Rahane was in form, picking 5 bowlers would have been okay. They are struggling, will be a huge risk to rely on them.

Siraj is selectors' focus nowadays, the next premium bowler. I am sure he will get priority. Umesh is a dead lock in for india.

 

I feel sad about the decline of rahane, should have a far better career than he had. I feel its mostly a mental issue. Most of the time his dismissals are soft.

If rahul, gill, pujara clicks( they should in indian condition), then with the spin trio, a bit of turning track and we should be home. Funnily, last test in kanpur was 2016 nz. 

 

Mumbai pitch has a tendency to help seamers. Could have been avoided.

The new batsmen is a massive issue. Maybe there are not enough good talents left? Particularly need solid middle order players as we have tons of openers now.

Why is Rohit playing t20s not tests? To secure his position as t20 captain.? 

See, we can spin it any way we want. 

If he wanted he could have played both the tests, just needed some rest so decided against playing in the first one, it's not the first time someone has done something like this.

No, from the report it looks he will come back and lead 1. Which is very stupid. Indian test captaincy is not a reserved bus seat.

I dont mind Kohli skipping both tests.. but skipping only one is not good for Indian cricket. You can spin it anyway you want but fact is Kohli is an insecure guy
