Pandya is one of the finest athletes in Indian team.He cannot be termed weak. His batting depends more on brute strength rather than timing that is for sure and I don't think he was bowling that much while coming thru junior cricket.I think that is the biggest cause for his injuries.

Some bowlers are just injury prone. And guys like Anderson whose action is his own and when tinkered with lead to injuries.I don't think he ever was going to be good test allrounder so it is not big miss as far as test team.White ball cricket he still has some role.

Nope 6 pack is not athlete. Your body should have endurance to survive sports, his body is not athlete body. Kapil was real athlete, this guy breakdown every other day, it's been 5 years since he is in the team and what is his contribution, looks like in triad of getting 6 packs he lost little bit of flesh what he has on the back which was providing cushion to his body. We dont need fake athelete/allrounder even an allrounder like chahar and thakur will serve better than him.

Kapil played like 8 games in a year with 2 months break in between bowling 125kph all his life, pandya a lot different. Cricket in the 70s/80s was like a bunch of famers trying to play a sport part time, karsan ghavri would one minute bowl seam up then spin lol, most of the Aussies cricketers would rack 7-8 beer cans after a game, so much professionalism.

Shoaib was given proper rehabilitation period in between his injuries, pandya pushed in to bowl while not hundred percent fit, pandya was never a bowler in the first place, due to lack of resources he was made to work on his bowling and his transformation was incredible, he was bowling 140kph in 2018 Nottingham test and looked like a picking a wicket every ball, Indian fans are toxic like hell. Akthar took sport enhancement drugs all throughout his career and was a bowler to begin with.

And how many games Pandya play in an year. Do you even know how many games he played in 5 year, he played only 11 test in his carrer so far, same goes with odi and t20s. BTW Kapil played 134 test or something non stop and same goes in Odi that's a lot.

Players would have cheese sandwiches during breaks, Indian cricketers would go out on dinners invited by fans on overseas tours eating curry and roti. Srikanth would smoke even during game time

Wasn't pandya himsef announced after selection that India should stop looking for allounder now. He was very well known he has been brought in to the team quickly due to his allround skill. He was given ample chances in starting 2 years he was not that good with bat as well , bowling anyways he was always pathetic. Only after ipl 18 he evolved as a hard hitter.

I seen it over and over slim express bowlers getting back injuries.

Guys like Shoaib and Lee had powerful lower bodies to develop pace, skinnier guys have a more whippy action that puts strain on the back.

The case of Mohammad Zahid who was super quick but got back injuries due to his action -

Not entirely True !! Sir Agarkar never picked up an injury if i am right.

Hmm his bowling was fine all throughout, he opened against NZ in his debut series, bowling 140kph and picking up wickets, he has barely played test cricket because India has not needed him at home, even in the world cup his bowling was decent picking up wickets, 2018 he was gearing up well before his injury in the Asia cup which was due to dehydration and  later dropped for his disciplinary issues, made a impact in his comeback against NZ and did okay in the world cup 2019

Word !! 6 pack does not equate to athleticism. Kohli is promoting this crap on his twitter feed. Guys like Babar Azam are also trying to follow him lol.

He hardly bowled to get injured. Pure batsmen suffer back injuries. Couple of years back Yuvraj picked up a back injury after one slog sweep shot. Big hitters can pick up injuries in so many ways. I remember Yuvraj picked up a back injury or back injury got worse after he got to around 30 against England. Then he was wearing a back support belt for the rest of the innings. Made 138 in 78 balls.

Credit where due Virat is super fit along with being ripped. However I don’t see this culture he brought people keep talking about.

Look at the youngsters coming through Shaw,Gill etc they look very soft physically. Lot of other promising players look malnourished too.

The ones with tatoos and 6 packs like Rahul and Pandya are the most injury prone.

Kohli’s peers like Ashwin and Rohit are not exactly known for their fitness.

Jadeja was always super athletic.

The only guy who raised his fitness to the next level besides Kohli under Kohli is Md.Shami.

That’s one guy you can give credit for Kohli’s fitness culture.

Bumrah  has had injury issues, Umesh just like Jadeja was always athletic, Bhuvi the less said the better, Ishant too never had problems with injury. That was the least of his problems.

Can some one tell me how Virat changed the so called fitness culture.

Gill is fit, look at mayanks transformation from a chubby guy now very fit, Sundar, Priyank panchal, vihari, Vijay Shankar all are very fit. Ashwin looks fit and sharp to since his limited overs comeback.

Fair enough. I know shoaib took steroids. I believe shoaib played with pain throughout his lifetime as an express pacer. He had issues with his foot. He needed specifically tailored orthopaedic recommended shoes to help him bowl. I respect him because he bowled on absolute dust bowl slow pitches at express pace for most of his career at express pace. He bled for his country. Despite going through multiple knee surgeries, he always tried to make himself available.

Pandya is a show pony. Don't care about this fraud one bit. I hope he does well for us and i wish him well but I am just not a fan. He is an overrated player.
