It could be just that Kohli got so big at one point he was ruling Indian cricket with an iron fist. Ravi Shastri brought the shrewdness and brains. However I feel that since there was no BCCI, to keep Kohli in check, Rohit was propped up and he didn’t make it easy for Kohli by becoming a LoI legend with all those records and turning it around in tests.

to make it worse also won 5 IPL’s

 

I feel this rift has happened due to broader politics than personality clash.
