Having a great run but do look at the opposition, T20I SR of 134 isn't any great either.

7 matches vs SA A

7 matches vs WI A

3 matches vs Eng A

3 matches vs Zim

3 matches vs BD A

Doubt if anyone will get such a favorable run of games ever again

He did well in WT20 so he indeed is quality.  I for once thought Babar would get out & we even managed to put pressure on him for a while..  But Rizwan was just brutal..  Released pressure every time.   Never missed Axar Patel so much in my life.

Pakistan were always decent in T20is. You guys need to focus on Tests and Odis if you want to become a "force to be reckoned with". Drawing a test series to West Indies in 2021 and losing 3-0 to an England county XI are not promising signs.

Absolutely, Pakistan has to do well in tests to prove themselves among the top cricketing nations. Ramiz knows it well, "Australian" drop in wickets are being installed in Lahore and Karachi , that would help Pakistan to do well in SENA, particularly in Australia . Current Pakistan team is a good T20 team but Pakistan at the moment is behind Australia, England, India and NZL as cricket playing nation. Shaeen also has to prove himself in SENA and in longer version , they need to cut down his T20 work load.

Played an utterly selfish knock in the semi (run a ball till 35-40 balls), did the same vs us as well but our captain clueless had given up despite 150 on the board.

He's done well but it's a fact he played 80% of his matches vs A sides.

You are quite generous there those are no better than C sides and recently flayed Kohli led clueless Indian t20 attack

So bragging rights with his fans, natural

Exactly single-handedly lost the match for them when it mattered and poor Hassan Ali did the rest by taking the blame on him:wp23:

Rizmaan sure had thanked his stars that evening

Phenomenal numbers but he too has the same issue as Babar. As good as they both are, they are incapable of taking the game away from the opponents (decent ones) as seen in the England series and in the semifinal against Australia. Early 130s is not the strike rate that will bother good bowling sides..

They should get out after 10th over then someone else can take over. But they don't have that "someone". That is the problem.

I think we play lots of LOIs (17 ODIs and 9 T20s) vs WI, SL, BD and Afghanistan next year. I would absolutely hate to see our established players pad up their stats vs them. If we do that and prioritise bilateral series wins,  we can safely write off both 2022 T20 WC and 2023 ODI WC.

rizwan is a very good player. If anything, he is underrated in tests IMO. babar is a very attractive player in terms of stroke-making, but I think fawad alam and rizwan are more clutch. Pak has genesis of a good team in test, but they need to find long-format bowlers for SENA, etc.

A bit off topic , but still regarding to future of Pakistan's batting. Remember this name, Mohammad Huraira , you will hear a lot about him in 2-3 years, if not sooner. He is just 20 and Nephew of Shoiab Malik . Played last under 19 WC, exceptionally talented young batsman.

I have already heard of him: looks promising but making transition to U19 to FC and then to int'l cricket is not easy.

He is as good a young pakistani batsman as i have ever seen against spin. Will be a beast in asian conditions atleast. has a solid technique against pace , not seen him play against bounce ,that',s the only question mark, he is someone who will be playing for Pakistan pretty soon along with Abdullah Shafiq and Haider ali.

Pakistan has the same issue as india of being top heavy. Yes there are some hitters but they barely get match practice. Fakhar is very inconsistent

Same two batsmen play 15, 16 overs every game without getting out. Rest barely get match practice series after series

Which is why they are unlikely to win t20 world cups, there will be couple of matches, in important stages, the top order will fail and they will lose

Top heavy teams rarely win cups

Much better LOI bat than Pant.

They are not competing with each other, bat at completely different spots and Rizwan is 30.

I think he is also related to Shoaib Malik in some way, right?

Pakistan bat deep. The alrounders have really improved their hitting ability and have recently won pakistan games by hitting out.

Indian bowlers don't bat as well, which is a problem. Not the same issues at all.

He just scored a FC tripple century to take his team Nothrens to the final of QEA trophy . At age 19 years and 239 days ,he is  2nd youngest Pakistani after Miandad to score FC tripple ton.

he has an excellent game vs spin. still need to see how he does against pace, bounce, and swing. btw, I am not downplaying him - just highlighting need to be cautious. plenty of teenagers don't make transition to senior cricket smoothly. For instance, in one of the U19 WC, I remember Chappati (Ian Chapell) and others were raving about Unmukt Chand, Harmeet Singh, and Baba Aparajith. All three have failed to varying degrees, although Baba has played for Ind A.

Pakistan batting being deep is only limited to t20 cricket they cannot save the day in odis

T20s are lottery few swings with bat and boundaries getting cleared doesn't mean they are consistent they still remain tailenders, dont rate shadab khan and legendary AR Hassaan Ali at all

Pakistan are having the rub of green in t20s recently that too mostly based on toss wins

I agree, its different when you play on domestic flat tracks when most of the country's front line bowlers are on national duty, he looks promising but has a long way to go .
