Invested in Gill, who is among the most talented batsmen (with a need to work on his SR). All three have a good fan following so A'bad may have hit a marketing jackpot DC: Ticked all the boxes with Pant (WK-AR), Shaw (High strike rate opener), Axar (spinner), and Nortje (pace bowler). Except as the first pick, Rabada would have been difficult to retain LSG: KL is one of the best T20 batsmen (needs to work on SR), Stoinis, a useful cricketer, and Bishnoi, an upcoming talent RCB: Kohli, the brand. Maxwell can be up and down but a unique player. Siraj can bowl at various stages of the game RR: Samson and Buttler, what more can you ask for from a batting PoV. Young Jaiswal as an investment. Needs to get a couple of good bowlers at the auction Bottom 5 CSK: Moeen & Gaikwad are good picks. Jadeja is middle ground unless his batting slot is sorted out. MSD as a player in 2022 appears like a legacy pick KKR: V Iyer could be a tournament wonder or in a purple patch so KKR may have put a lot of faith in him. Varun C is no longer a mystery esp. for good batsmen. Russell & Narine could turn out to be past their best (but do have great records and can pick up their games) MI: Bumrah is a nice pick. SKY is useful but not sure how long his purple patch will continue (could have gone with a youngster like Kishan who may have a higher upside in the long term). Rohit & Pollard are more like legacy picks. Pollard was the 4th pick which not many would agree to be so maybe MI had less options for the 4th pick (could have gone with 3 too which would have allowed them to bid relatively high for QdK, Kishan, & Boult. Now it would be lucky to get one) PK: Just two picks so banking on the auction SRH: Williamson & 2 youngsters, so again banking big time on the auction Will be interesting to see how the teams improve upon their strengths at the auction!! A'bad earlier targeted Kishan, who was probably approached by MI suggesting that it would go hard on him at the auction (so Kishan has nothing to lose as he either gets to go back to his old franchise or get a good price if some other team bids higher)

In alphabetical order and excluding players who played for the franchise last year: A'bad: Mitch Marsh. Marsh can make good use of PP (if Gill starts slow) and also bowl a few overs (less pressure on SDP to bowl in every game) CSK: Harshal Patel. Fits the profile of a player who can be successful at CSK. Trundler + a bowler who can bat + wants to play under MSD DC: David Warner. DC has two attacking batsmen in its retention. Need a Warner to be the pillar of its batting and give it an edge in knockout games (an issue for the team) KKR: Faf du Plessis. Solid opener that fits with KKR's attacking approach. Can captain the team as well. LSG: Shardul Thakur. Thakur asked KL for his "budget". Can be a good batting and bowling partner for Stoinis where they can share the overs and also bat alongside with each other esp. beneficial if KL plays slowly MI: Yuzi Chahal. MI tends to go for a good leg spinner. Chahal would be a good pick. PK: Quinton de Kock. A left-hander to partner Agarwal in opening. WK. And can be its captain too. RCB: Ishan Kishan. Same benefits as QdK but more suitable to the batting friendly surface at B'lore. RR: Deepak Chahar. It needs a good bowler. D Chahar has played for Rajasthan in Ranji. Can bat as well. SRH: R Ashwin. Rashid's are a big shoes to fill but Ashwin, who is experienced on Indian pitches, can use the pitches at Hyderabad as well.

He wasnt bowling anyway Yeah, SRK would be one of the targeted players for MI along with Kishan, QdK, Dhawan, Boult, Yuzi, etc., but they would feel good to get a couple. If any team gets 50% if its key targeted players, it would feel good Vijy 1
