Pakistan's performance in Aus series one of worst by home side

Recommended Posts

Keeping aside all the hahaha and other threads, this has to be one of the worst performance ever by home side. Watched most of the series and Pakistan looked like playing for draw from day 1. Negative bowling against Aus, not trying to accelerate even when wickets were in hand, giving up even with there were wickets in hand. It was as mediocre as it can get.

I have never seen a series where touring side is trying to win and home side is just sitting and waiting for the draw.

When Babar Azam came to bat on 2nd day of Pindi test, score was 312-2 in 121 overs which was good effort by then. Pakistan ended with 476, scoring 164 runs in next 42 overs.

When Babar Azam got out, Pakistan had score 100 runs in 26 overs with Babar playing at SR of 43. That was the time when batsmen should have dominated tired bowling attack on flat pitch completely. It was pathetic selfish batting from him.

Any other team would have ended with 500 runs in 2 days and player batting at SR of 40 should have been dropped for such selfish approach.

If they prepared good pitches, they could have won atleast one match which is worth 12 points, same as 3 draws. Yet they ruined the series with concrete roads. By the end even their own fans believe they deserve this result

No I disagree. Australia is better than Pakistan in all aspects of test cricket. Aus have better pacers, better batsmen(even against spin), lyon is better than any spinner Pak has. Aus are also more experienced and battle hardened in tests.

Pakistan got away with a 0-1 loss due to docile pitches. Otherwise it might have been a 0-3 whitewash.

What about our 2-1 loss to  England 2012

Kevin Pietersen played one of the best innings ever played in cricket history in subcontinent.. it was as good as Dravids Adelaide masterclass. India would have won the series if ravindra jadeja played all the tests instead of only the last one. India played ashwin, ojha and bhajji..bhajji was washed up and ashwin was very new..

Indian team that beat Aussies in 4th test had everything going against it yet they won. After 2 draws Pak were willing to roll out a result oriented wicket had they batted first who knows.

Ojha was overrated too

The main reason why we lost 2012 series was due to 2 factors.

1. Washed up batting lineup

2. Ashwin out of the blue lost his radar...couldn't land deliveries in the same spot...averaged 50 plus that series.....had he been good, the series would have been super close.

Of course had Jaddu been there, things would have been a lot better.

Ojha was pretty good that series but he had no support on the other end.

We take spinners performances for granted but when they suck, the home team becomes super vulnerable.

The recent Pak vs Aus series is a prime example of that.

Ojha was good in first game but was too slow in the air.

Monty showed the right pace to bowl on those tracks. Jaddu was closer to that.

monty-swann was a very good combo, both were quick-ish through the air. and their batting was close to peak. not just KP but the perennially underrated Cook

That was a really good performance but it doesn't really show a trend, like it was a 1%er won in the last session after it was Australia's gane to walk home when they had a significantly stronger batting and bowling lineup

Not really. India showed what they are capable of in game 2 itself. When they knocked Aussies over black and blue.

3rd test further showed how strong our bench strength was.

We had all our young in batsmen in good form.

Only our bowling was weakend since game 1. I agree.

Gill sundar vihari thakur all are or should be our regulars anyway for sena conditions.
