Where are the power hitters

IPl is biggest league so according to some geniuses it should produce best T20 team in world for India..Since 2008 who are the Indian power hitters we have seen in IPL who can succeed at semi decent rate.

Power hitting is future of T20s, a ten ball 30 is more valuable than 40 ball 50 which is norm for most Indian batsmen.

India better find and groom some power hitters or it will be left behind like last T20 world cup.

Only semi consistent finisher in t20s is Karthik and he is 38 years old.

If you are going to leave all the power hitting to West Indian mercenaries how will they develop. Since the days or Maxwell/Miller/Baz/Gilly/Jayasuriya  teams always rely on foeigners to finish. Yusuf, Yuvraj, Raina are some of the exceptions. Rohit, Rahul occasionally. Even they cannot match this kind of beastly hitting.

We don't have any specialist power hitter, the last real pinch hitter we had was Yusuf Pathan.

All the others like Pandya, Srk, Samad are just normal batsman who can hit a few when things go their way.

yusuf was a pinch hitter :giggle:

The understand of power hitting is so poor na

SrK has power but poor timing for hitting

We have a bunch of guys with power but lack of explosiveness in terms of timing let them down.

Srk has power and so does dube but they arent international class , its how comfertable ur against quality bowlers

Dube has footwork issues...  He doesn't gets in good positions & his bat swing is limited.

SRK has timing issue.   Samad isn't clicking which is weird as he seems to have both timing & power.  But hey even Livingstone is struggling.   Tewatia with his innovations works from time to time.

Only West Indian power hitters have so far gauged the balance how to do power hitting in India.

bahar ki murgi humesha sabko achi lagti hai .......he has been struggling in subcontinet but he ll improve very quickly since he plays leagues around the world including PSL and Abu dhabi t10s . Soon he ll find a way out

His game against high pace was polished by playing in BBL

Meanwhile Rajapaksa is looking top draw so far.  Impact inns back to back.  Playing both pace & spin equally well.

West Indians do a lot of. Callisthenics,  gymnastics and body weight training. Very useful for balance, speed and coordination. Also plyometrics.

Indian teams don't focus on such things. Do more stat strength and power lifting I suppose. Need to change their routine.

Does Deepak Hooda qualify ?? I know he is a proper batsman but he does have quick hands and has power in strokes. He is even good against pace.

Hooda has improved a lot.  Still 25-26 year old guy so a good prospect.   Quite ahead of likes of SRK Samad Parag right now.

No team is foolish to leave Indian batsman, if they show signs of power hitting. Raina is still the only guy who comes to mind  who could start tonking from ball one. He had his own issues with short ball.Yousuf did not have the range, he was more  slow starter

Pandya has a very limited strike zone.I feel teams have figured out his zone and he was found wanting even in last t20 world cup where even Jadeja scored at higher SR. Other you have mentioned are not even in international class yet.Let us see how they progress.

Tilak Varma ??

Have not seen much of him but was good today.

tilak is not a power hitter. he is not someone who can score at 200+ SR. he can excel at scoring at 160-180 SR though
