Where is Mohsin Khan?

I wonder whats the reasoning of not giving him any chance after the splendid IPL. Is he injured ?? Else i dont see a cricketing reason for not giving him a chance in the various tours.. I mean he was the best fast bowler in the IPL, top notch economy & decent pace & bounce to go with this.. Troubled one and all....

Anybody knows his whereabouts ?

Seriously! This guy should be part of the squad at a minimum. Since Arshdeep is part of the team, selectors would have thought that.they  can't afford another left arm pacer. But that's cliched thinking. Why can't we have two of them if they are both good?

In India A tours they are taking along 3 left armers, so unless they feel he is not fit for longer format, i dont see a reason they cant select him, he gives natural height like prasidh krishna being a left armer which is an added benefit

Not exactly his fault if he isn't given many games. Whatever little i have seen of him, the guy looks good, troubled everyone, was hard to score of and also crossed 150 on a few occasions. Deserves chances like the run leaker Avesh and not so impressive Prasidh.

  • 9 games and an outstanding IPL - eco , avg everything was nothing short of outstanding
  • All phase bowler
  • Has variety
  • Brings in left arm angle
  • have heard he can bat to

To many pros and con wud be just low sample

Although yes their shud be more sample but with so many injuries if need arises ,Why not.

The 1st idea shud be to mark all the strongest option in the format then the shortlisting shud happen.

Right now he is among top our strongest t20 bowler options are

  1. Bumrah
  2. Bhuvi
  3. Arshdeep
  4. Harshal - New ball phase not strong
  5. Deepak chahar- middle-death phase not very strong but not bad too
  6. Mohsin- low sample
  7. Umran- one dimensional bowler but
  8. Nattu- Injuries has hampered his chances and form
  9. Siraj- although this season was horrible but last 2 seasons were good
  10. Avesh- can bowl in all phases and has been decent to good in last few yrs of IPL , struggling with current form
  11. Khaleel- inconsistency is an issue

Beyond a point everyone has issues but they all have something going on for them

I believe he or anyone else should also be given sufficient chances like Avesh is getting..I hope this is special privillege is not only for Avesh

he will once he gets his chance, the good thing with this TM is if they put faith in you they ll back you big time unlike Kohli-shastri

the 'run leaker' Avesh was also hyped by same ICF on last year's IPL

That's exactly my point. We need to see how  he adjusts when batsman plan for him etc

Everyone looks great in form specially when hes new

yes so many options, so why should he be in Indian squad over others who proved over multiple seasons.

Even Siraj is finding it tough to break in.

siraj lost out on few things

  • current form
  • i think dravid doesnt rate him much as a t20 bowler , coz he was benched in t20s under him before this disaster IPL
  • He has extreme days- when he has a bad day their is just no hiding for him. If you see guys like bhuvi-bumrah even in their bad days they ll still manage a good over here and their or somehow manage to control the runs

As i said he has many pros , ultimately the ones with more pros shud go ahead. I dnt mind siraj but i dnt mind mohsin even

Also if you see the list everyone is having multiple cons beyond - bhuvi-bumrah-harshal-arshdeep and somewhat deepak chahar everyone has many pros-cons , mohsin cons are just low sample and inexperience as of now

Siraj has much higher ceiling than Mohsin as of now.  His form also improved in WI where he rediscovered his outswing.

Siraj can lose it on bad days, who's to say Mohsin can't? We need to see more of him to form such opinions. His cons are low because we haven't seen him much.

If he can even half as good season next year then sure he will be strong contender

Alone blaming outswing in t20 isnt right . Swing waise bhi shuru ke over men hi hota hai uske baad bhi uski dhulayi hui thi

Problem was his lengths - bowled absolute crap

Mohsin eco was under 6 in IPL for 9 games

Who is to say he cant but their is no sample to say he can have horrible horrible many days. Atleast 9 sample games says he didnt, their is no sample to say he can have very awful days (which everyone will have ) but as of now he has very good

Surely it ll come to that

Im saying post bhuvi-harshal-bumrah-arshdeep ...............every options needs to be kept open and he is a strong option . In that its a pros-cons game

9 games is not enough to decide either ways. Some can have bad games initially and improve too.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be in plans at all. But its not unfair or anything that others have played ahead of him with the number of options we have. Besides the names you mentioned, we also have Tyagi,Mukesh,Dayal etc. Too many options.

Umran jumped the queue due to pace and X Factor he brings, but others are expected to do more and its fair.

Mohsin might have got a game in Kohli era but that'd been because of constant chopping and changing. Here once selected they get a fair run. You can't have both ways

kuldeep sen too , togther twe have good bunch for next 10 yrs

Why mohsin is ahead in the list is becoz of the impact he had and why umran got selected for indian team was IMPACT

Tyagi hasnt had a good overall season till now he has just shown signs and he is just a one phase bowler as of now that to the most risky phase where his inexperience will give him issues at times like it happened against pandya

Mukesh - showed high new ball value but others phases dont know

Dayal - was good but eco was quite high

Sen- was ok but again avg , eco both not good

Mohsin - Impact, eco, wkts, avg , batting addition, all phase bowler , left armer

So my point he is giving more pros.............sample chota hai but 9 games are enough to see ki quality hai usme

He has been coached by Mohammad Shami, they have been training together... He has been a part of NCA recently, he is definately one to groom & if we see many have benefited from IPL, directly to get into the Indian team, so why the hypocrisy when it comes to somebody like Mohsin Khan. Atleast he should have been with the national setups, he is not part of the Duleep trophy, not part of India A, not part of relatively easy tours of Zim / Ireland.. Arshdeep for instance has only done well in IPL, he has also not played a lot with Punjab, still he gets in, but the last IPL Mohsin actually bowled better than Arshdeep!
