Do we put unnecessary pressure on our players for Pakistan game and they underperform as a result?

Don't know about others, but OP is always under the pump

Against them

Yes you are correct. These are the kind of games (against Pak) or an away series in Aust/ Eng are exactly the reason I still follow cricket. Nothing beats the emotions attached with these matches - both in win and also in defeat. If a time comes when these kind of games get replaced with say IPL, a fan of me will also die.

For me playing it is playing Australia. Australia vs India is always a big match. They are India's main rivals for last two decades.NZ is India's bogey team.

Pakistan is just another match.I have not seen Pakistan in anyway as a good team to be worthy rival in last decade.

Nz is bogey team only in nz. Even in England we were under prepared hence we lost. In a rematch we can beat them in England provided we get enough prep time.

Anywhere else india should comfortably beat them.

Its not pressure, our top order has well documented problem against Leftarm fast and middle order was woefully under prepared last time. Blaming it all on fans or social media is some gas lighting bullshit

This time atleast middle order looks better prepared so we should do better

really? i remember the kind of hype and nerves India-pak matches used to generate in the past and this is not even when by all accounts it was at a peak much earlier than the 90s. Compared to that this is quite tame i must say.

The reason we lost in the wt20 is not because of this pressure you are talking about, team had mental issues going into it that had nothing to do with the game but more with captaincy and factionalism and it showed.

It was a poor day for us and background noise just added to it.

Going through youtube just to see other side buildup and Pakistani youtubers will go to any extent for indian eyeballs. The only reasonable voice was wahid khan, he gave India edge but like any normal person clearly mentioned he wants pak to win.
