vvvslaxman Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Most recently Australia lost T20 to Zimboks. Zimboks beat Pakistan last year in Zimbabwe. Pakistan shot out for 99 runs. So it isnot so unfathomable losing to a team that is only slightly behind you. This idea of this format is to make lesser teams compete better with bigger teams as you just have to be good enough for 20 overs. India losing with an understrength side shouldn't be shocking. We may see more of this. Lesser sides beating us. Who knows. We might lose to Afghanistan as well if we bat first. England who are supposedly beasts in this format were disadvantaged by fielding first and NZ won in a canter in the end. Teams are getting better in T20. Almost all associate sides have deeper batting line up than us. Minnow bashing is not as easy as it was. This is even more true in UAE.
Frustrated Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Aus lost to Zim in ODI. Not T20. (If i m not wrong) raki05 1
vvvslaxman Posted September 7, 2022 Author Posted September 7, 2022 Strategically they get better due to franchise cricket. Yesterday Srilanka's use of bigger boundary was very impressive.

coffee_rules Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Agree, it was tough for Pak and SL to beat India in last two matches. It went down to last over penultimate ball First class, raki05, Number and 1 other 4

The Pandya injury, Vijay shankar last minute selection, then again Pandya's come back, then again Dube, Venky Iyer selection, again Pandya's come back. Next time he gets injured we may see experiment another all rounder. Edited September 7, 2022 by vvvslaxman
Chakdephatte Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Hong Kong came close to beating us. Afghanistan deserved to win today's match, if not for a tailender. Lord 1
