zen Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Both timepass series with not much value ... Both involving BD, the home team (NZ/SL), and Ind/Pak. Which team's series win do you rate higher? I guess, the tri-series win will give Pak's confidence for the WC; while Nidahas did nothing much for Ind.
Norman Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Bangladesh gave us the legendary Naagin dance and then the ultra legendary Banglawash in these series'.. They win at life.

Lone Wolf Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Another tri series I remember (Pak/Zim/Aus).... Fakhar Zaman won Poyzz the final vs Aus B side.
Norman Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Tri series are only entertaining when all 3 teams are somewhat equally matched (for eg those CB tri series we used to play with Australia and Sri Lanka). This current series was just q de facto 3 match T20 series between pak and NZ considering the fact that Bangladesh are downright horrible outside Asia. Nidahas was much closely fought (thanks to us playing a B team) and Bangladesh being a decent side in Asia and Sri Lanka playing on home soil.

SL beat us in first game... BD's highest chase in Asia vs SL... India winning all games... The epic Naagin match & then the Final drama... Gold standard series. Vilander and Norman 2
the don Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Kitply cup was the best. younis and butt smashing piuush chawla and the cult hero Rao iftikhar leading the pak attack to a win.
AuxiliA Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 The Nidahas trophy will still be remembered after 1000 years. It will outlive both cricket & Pakistan. express bowling 1

Not even remotely comparable. That stuff will live for ages.
cricketfan28 Posted October 14, 2022 Posted October 14, 2022 Tri series lol , it is not a tri-series, a bilateral. Which pak won 2-1.

Albeit with second rung Indian cricketers so not very compelling but very keenly fought.
vvvslaxman Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 I watched this series. I have never seen such a boring T20 batting before i am talking about Pakistan batting. Atrocious. NZ for some weird reason played Adam Milne only against BD who was bringing on heat. 4-0-24-3 vs BD. Next match he didn't play. Tickner played final who is not even part of the squad. It seems like a deliberate tactic.
QuarantineTormentino Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 (edited) Lol @OP even putting this Banglawash tri series in the same sentence as Nidahas should be a crime unless that sentence is “Banglawash tri series can never come even 5% close to the Nidahas series in terms of entertainment value “ The entertainment value of Nidhahas was off the charts. As others have mentioned India sending a weak C team was a great leveller for the series and made it evenly contested. On the other hand we have Pak playing their near-full strength team in a dead rubber in the Banglawash series (that too against BD) the Nidahas also gave us a new rivalry in cricket - SL vs BD. Heck the impact of Nidahas was such that even Daniel Alexander tweeted to congratulate India on the series victory Edited October 16, 2022 by QuarantineTormentino

If there were no WC, this series would have got more attention) and where SL-BD rivalry for e.g. is their business, it does not involve India. Anyways, was good to know how much you enjoyed that series. Edited October 16, 2022 by zen

They left out guys like Santner and Adam Milne for the final lol. Boult and Southee were bowling at 120 kph with no real intensity. Kane williamson's obviously stupid move of using Sodhi was also more experimental. From an intensity standpoint this series is not even 5% close to that series.
maniac Posted October 16, 2022 Posted October 16, 2022 Let’s see Nzl in Nzl with a B team > SL in SL with an A team Bang in sc conditons >>> Bang in Nzl conditons India with a C team with bowling line up of Unadkut, Vijay Shankar, Thakur and a very raw Siraj didn’t drop a game = Pak A team with full line up (minus SSA) which still lost a game to Nzl Final over of Nidihaas viewership >>> 95% of cricket videos on YouTube (I would say 100% but I am sure something has overtaken it since) Rest I leave for the geniuses to figure out :)

I seriously regret watching sleep inducing Pakistan batting. It was like watching 10 vijay shankars batting. maniac and Lord 2
