Do we need two specialist spinners?

Unless one is a leggie i don't see the point of going in with 2 finger spinners.  Axar+Ashwin  = 1 full time batsman. That probably is their thinking. But neither of them take wickets.

Jadeja was one specialist batsman. Axar is just his replacement. We planned to go for one specialist spinner in Ash/Chahal but injuries happen.

Neither of them bowl well enough to complete the quota.

Problem here is that you have the option of Hooda then as a batsman who can bowl part time.

But captain isn't able to use Hooda because like Ashwin, he is also off spinner and often when he needs wickets, he uses up Ashwin and then as we move to 15th over or beyond, you are left with no other option but to use Pandya only for 4 overs quota.

Either the captain needs to use Hooda better with bowl or play Chahal - Hooda combo.

jadeja and bumrah keep getting hurt before important series and tournaments, the problem is we are so reliant on them in LOIs.

Jadeja did play in conducive UAE pitches. Didn't really help.  in Australia i would be tempted to go with a wristie. But i see why they don't want to play him. Then the tail will look like Chahal/Shami/Bhuvi Arshdeep.   Axar/Ashwin give this artificial batting depth. If there is one team they can take chance against that would be ZImbabwe assuming SA beats pakistan

Ashwin and Axar are not spinnners let’s start there. They are picked because they can bat a bit. I don’t see the ball spinning from their hands. Anyway Australia is a graveyard for off spinners interesting to see how others are operating

Pretty much all spinners travelled. Few spinnners had their moment. Mujeeb Santner.  Stand out performer is Shadab which is why i am kinda tempted to give Collar chewer a go.

Specialist? They both looked ordinary so far.  We are now a minnow in spin dept. Pakistan, nz, Australia, sl, eng all have good spinners better than our lot.

Collar chewer can go for 30 runs in an over the conundrum of having him in squad. Bishnoi would have made sense but the Chetan sharma has no clue

If they are so scared why did they back him? Same with 24 slow ball merchant. Seems like he may never get a game.

Shahbaz Ahmed would have been a better pick for #7.

They brought him too late.... Didn't gave him a game in Zim.. Only played in the B side of Dhawan vs SA.  Didn't get to see him bat.  But he did had a superb IPl
