Why Does ICC Group India and Pakistan in the same group?

There has to be an explanation of that. Both teams need to be grouped based on rankings and the method should be explained in advanced. I am tired of playing losers and complainers all the time. That goes for BD too. They still are not over the some fake no ball.

The BCCI doesn't care that's the issue, if they'd put their foot down & refuse fixing of these groups or clashes ICC can't do jack! But they clearly don't & so here we are - the babus at BCCI only care for their fat bellies & bank balance

And they hurt Indian team. If based on these rankings this game happens it is fine, then. Don't have this match for the sake of this match. They miss playing India, we don't miss that crap. I look forward to SA, NZ, ENG and AUS.

They keep them in the same group and they schedule their match in the beginning of the tournament. It seems to happen in all the big tournaments.

More concerned with the turnout other than SC games... ICC should do better job at marketing.  I bet People in Australia don't even know a World cup is going on...  

Needed a Ashes like build up at least to fill the stadiums & add to that they didnt schedule the tourney in peak summer @SRT100

Interestingly, this was the first time that an India - Pakistan match happened at a WC, 17 years after the inaugural one. It looks like 2015 WC is when they started rigging the draw. I dont even remember how many T20 WCs have happened, so I have only mentioned about the ODI edition.

They started rigging since 2012 WT20, IIRC we've faced Pak at least once in every ICC tourney since then!

It all started with that 2015 world Cup game at Adelaide. The hype, the anticipation around that game and the whole mauka mauka ad with cunning Star Sports marketing that game as if it's a WC final and the Indian sports media milking the hype to the maximum limit.. 

 

From then on, there was no looking back really. Star became the official broadcasters for all ICC tournaments and to absolutely no one's surprise, India and Pakistan were in same groups in each and every ICC tournament since then. It's all about money at the end of the day.

Whole process is corrupt and rigged. I am triggered because they cannot take a loss gracefully. If they win, it is because they have a better team. If they lose it is because of BCCI. Make up your mind. Why play a country that thinks the game is phixed.

Australians are already laid back by nature. Easy going. I am being honest here and this will shock most Indians reading this, but most Australians dont or really havent cared about this WC. Even if they were doing well, the timing is all wrong.

 

This WC was badly timed, not sure who is responsible for this. Australia or ICC?

 

WC in Australia should have been held in December or January.
