Rohit has won 7 ODI series, lost 2. Won 1 multi-nation tournament he captained in. He has highest W/L ratio. If a person says that he is dumbest captain, then only thing that can be deduced from that the person hates him. There is nothing else to explain the title.

Those things may mean something to unidimensional simplistic formulaic thinkers. If you "read" the thread, you would realize that someone can be dumb in cricket for a variety of reasons, many of which are already listed by various posters.

Dumbest captain can't be most successful captain statically. Good performance may not make you smartest, but certainly proves that player isn't dumbest.

 

If a person comes up with such ideas of calling such captain dumbest, then they are just peddling their hate agenda against that player and nothing else.

Those stats are almost meaningless. People know for e.g. that India lost the T20 WC SF (“high weightage”) due to dumb strategies and tactics.

Vada Pav Sharma should be stripped off his test captaincy immediately after this test.  Enough of seeing this tondu struggle each time in crucial encounters and his constipated looks after getting dismissed cheaply.  He is 35 but looks like 45.  Is mentally and physically handicapped to lead the team.   2023 WC should also be his last tournament.  Don't see him averaging more than 30 in WC (with 1 or 2 decent knocks against minnows/associates)

He is a failed captain who gained credence by captaining a loaded IPL team to titles that anyone could have. He lacks, tactical nous, thinking on feet etc
