Among Asian teams, does Pak have the best chance of winning the 2023 ODI WC?

The world cup is only a few months away. Pak now has the confidence and the team to do well in Indian conditions. Would you rate it as the favorite among Asian teams?

yes, should be clear favourite since their tuk-tuk batting is better suited for 50 over format. and their bowling will be quite potent in most conditions.

Pak > SL > Bang > Ind [assuming selection of Boobi, Rahul, Dhawan, etc] > Afg in terms of feasibility of making it deep into WC

Ind is a steady team. It can make it to the semis if many things go its way but winning the tournament is a different matter. Pak can lose out on a SF place but if it makes it, it chances of winning the tournament would be relatively high.

Pak and even SL are mercurial, which means they have some chance of making it to SFs and beyond. Ind is the type of team that huffs and puffs their way to QFs/SFs and then chokes hard there

ODI bowling is good for India.

Bumrah, Shami, Siraj and Prasidh/Arshdeep as backups.

Spin is concern.

Rahul and Dhawan are concerns.

choking is also concern in KOs. let's not forget 2017 CT and 2019 WC and 2015 WC.

shami is not the ODI bowler he was at his peak, siraj is still learning ropes of the format. prasidh is very good. arshdeep is untested.

no good spinners

Siraj is pretty good, he is probably the bowler that I have the most confidence on in terms of picking wickets with new bowl.

Agreed with choking and no good spinner issue. The solution of choking is to drop the  chokers in the team first.:phew:

No. I don't think so. Let's not confuse T20's and ODI's.

They are a good ODI side but it's not clear that they are better than any of India, England or Australia.

These blokes nearly lost to Nethdrlands in this format not too long ago . Their Raufs and Shadabs haven't done anything in ODIs in the recent times.

I don't think so, India is still ahead of Pakistan in ODI, here is my ranking

1-India 2-PAk 3-SL, 4- BD 5- Afghanistan , no surprise .

Looks like India is taking it very seriously about the weaknesses they have to cover and hopefully Bumrah will be back , their bowling will be much better.  Pak batting is very weak and not expecting selectors will take is seriously.

Babar, Imam, Fakhar,Shaan,Rizwan. No hitter but still that's solid batting order. They can score par score easily with this batting and Hopefully no return of Shoaib Malik and they are good to go for wc with the bowling attack they have...

they should be easy finalists with this lineup - only issue may be hostile crowds.

Pakistan is not a strong ODI side...  They did struggle vs Dutch recently.

But WC is in Indian conditions which will suit their spin attack & skiddy pacers.  Huge question mark on batting though.

Imam is a minnow basher & leg side lapadu Rizwan is pathetic in this format in middle order.

Indian ODI side apart from openers isn't a bad one.

Spinners are a concern...  Hopefully Kuldeep has turned it around for us.

Shahbaz is another guy to watch out for.
