Pollack Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) They are sure Rohit will pass yo-yo? It would be interesting to know the names of these 20 players since according to BCCI others wouldn't be allowed to be considered for ODI till WC2023. So whichever selection committee is setup it would be just for namesake till WC atleast since WC2023 selection is already made by current bunch. Edited January 1, 2023 by Pollack SRT100 1

Cricket has gotten more physical but it's still an overwhelmingly skill based sport. If you do not understand this singular fact, you betray your lack of knowledge about cricket. Fitness is important but yo-yo makes it a black and white choice. There should also be difference fitness criteria for quicks, batsmen, close-in fielders etc. Deal with the real world instead of presentation slides. There are enough skilled players that we can select fit ones among them. Don't have to compromise.Exceptions can always be made for players performing exceedingly well Agree about different criteria for different kinds. vivek04 1

express bowling Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Shortlist of 20 players looks like a nice way of protecting the TTFs and keeping out promising youngsters. Almost all the players who have been part of the 2019, 2021 and 2022 World Cup failures will be in the 20. Edited January 1, 2023 by express bowling nevada, raki05 and Mosher 3

Different metrics should be applied to each position. Slip fielder for example should require less rigorous fitness tests to pass compared to a fast bowler / outfield player.
