Agree. I think just one good Pujara innings for the entire series will be enough. He is here for a while yet.

 

KL though is on deadly ground and he is batting as if he knows that.

 

If Australia bring changes and we remain unchanged, I think Australia can beat us. Remember every batsman of overs failed aside from Fatman. We got lucky that our bowlers are better batsmen than our actual batsmen.

Mayank has to play this Test somehow. There has to be somebody with the weight of domestic runs behind them and who can play spin well.   Is there any chance of him being included?

He isn't in squad, otherwise I would prefer him over Gill/KLR.

pujara is more motivated and works really hard. Test cricket is all he has.

Mayank any day over half this lineup on Indian pitches. If horses for courses can be applied to bowlers for SENA tests, why not for batsmen in home tests?

If he is given so many chances, he will fluke a good score in one of the innings. And then they will give him a free run for another 10 tests. The circus that is Indian cricket.

 

A specialist batsman averaging 34 after close to 50 tests. This wouldn't have been tolerated in the 90s era!!!!
