They have no idea which ball will spin or go straight on from Ashwin and Jadeja.i am not sure this is going to change in the next 3 games but we will see.

Same for us. Jadeja left a ball thinking it was turning away. But it came back sharply.

australias problem is much worse.NONE of them can tell, even Smith and lamb of god.in a low scoring game all it needs is one ball and inevitably it   finds them.the one that got Smith in the 1st innings was really strange though because it had so much revs on it but it went on straight.

Jadeja was usually sound. Anyone can misjudge a ball or two.

OTOH they kept playing and missing

I honestly don't think even Jadeja knew that delivery would  go straight one, you really cannot blame Smith there.

And what's with Steve Smith giving thumbs up lol. It's a rivalry. Arch rivals and giving thumbs up.

Even if Smith is unconcious I do not expect any of our pace bowlers to approach and assist him to get back ro his feet. Vice versa with Oz. Just like they hurt pujara and never apologised. Just gave him the stare and intimidated him further by throwing in some expletives.

Same attitude is what I expect from the Indians and so far Indians have been ruthless.

yeah but in that case you should play for straight one and get to pitch of the ball

he got out same way 2nd innings but was declared no ball.

If you fail to get to the pitch of the ball but Jadeja spins away like the delivery to Marnus then you get stumped. That is the genius of Jadeja  you have to live with those dismissals.

If I am Marnus or Smith, I will do the same like they did in first innings and hope for the best against Jadeja. You cannot master Jadeja in these conditions, he is just relentless and too good.

Marnus was okay in 1st innings. atleast charged and tried to smother the spin.

They can use sweep too.

That's what good great bowlers can do to you - just that Jadeja is still a cut above the rest in this regard.

What made the series competitive in a dominant home season for India was losing the toss in the first Test on a Pune pitch that turned square. Australia got the best of the conditions, their spinners had a cushion of runs to be able to bowl fuller, and then Steven Smith put the matter beyond India to score a third-innings century to supplement a 154-run first-innings lead.

To score runs on that surface, you needed some luck. Against Ravindra Jadeja, Smith had a lot of it. Jadeja induced a false response on 24 of the 81 balls he bowled at Smith during his century - almost one false response every three balls. Smith was so focused, his idiosyncratic mannerisms got even more exaggerated. Jadeja mocked him only to draw a smile from Smith as Australia went 1-0 up

Cricket is a game of fine margins, confidence & most of all domino effect - maybe if Smith was caught early in that innings & not scored a ton, Oz would still have won the game but he wouldn't score 3 hundreds overall? This is why it is 100% important to remove Brat from slips as we can't afford any half chance, or half a dozen chances in case of Brat, to let Oz back in the series :whack2:

What can we do?? Bcci will play him cause he attracts fans. Apparently coolie attracts the ladies as well. Not sure how rat face would do that. Maybe curry girls like his 150 mil.

Same with kela. Marketing reasons?? He will play as he brings in the kannada ladies and attracts the teenage beauties of manglore. He looks like a sea urchin but whatever.

Then we have ghujara. Less said the better. Rock. Maybe some of the aunties are impressed by his rock hard physique from blocking cricket balls with his body.

Sky. Wrong player in wrong format. Classic india. Always playing wrong players in wrong formats. Will never change.

Yes they can sweep, but sweep is premeditated shot, lot of things can go wrong with that shot. Show me one batsmen who mastered Jadeja in these conditions. He might not get wickets on flatter pitches but he will be very economical. If pitch has any bite, Jadeja will be more than handful for any batsman.Jadeja has the perfect action and he uses the crease very well.He is master of using rough also and they also have a guy named Ashwin to contend at the other end. These two are just too good for any batsman.

The biggest issue is technical. Australian batsmen have grown up standing on theor toes while facing bowling at home to account for the bounce. In Indian pitches you have to slump your shoulders and stand on heels to counter the bounce and turn.. if you see labu he ie trying to slouch and to some extent smith. These are technical fixes and cant happen immediately unless you play a lot in these conditions.. india still suffers against swing due to open stance.. perversely its mindblowing but KL Rahul is the only batsman who has the correct stance and approach to play swing and he showed in lords and centurion..

Not using their feet against the spinners.

As rohit said in his interview, if you allow a bowler to bowl 6 balls on the same spot you're looking for trouble.

This is it. Not going to pitch of ball and trying read from hand exclusively. Jadeja and Ash are consistant and accurate but in the first test Aus never challenged their length.

When Jadeja and Axar are bowling, you get the feeling that even they don't know which ones are going to turn and which ones won't :cantstop:

Its not a mistake or not picking the ball, the ball is delivered the exact same. you can't pick it until it bounces and if its at a good length on off stump. The batsmen that did well were jaedjea and rohit sharma who are both technically very limited but can score and counter-attack so put people off the line which is unplayable on a pitch like that.

But don't think the indian spinners wouldn't cut a bloody hole through the indian batting lineup just as hard as it did to Australia.

The lengths Jaddu was bowling it was nigh on impossible to play. Current Pujara won't last more than 3 balls & same with Kolli.

Ashwin I think is easier to deal with & a right hander getting out to him is clear case of lack of skill.  You only have to worry about ball spinning in.

Use your feet try & hit him straight.  Use conventional sweep as pitch had no bounce.

Playing Jaddu was horrific...  I doubt even best players of spin could deal with it.  His lengths were accurate.  Neither too full nor too short.

A right hander would be a lamb ready to be slaughtered on a turning track against him.
