bsriharsha Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Australia would gain * all even if they did practice in Nagpur. Nagpur is a red soil pitch , delhi is black soil type. No two indian wickets behave the same. These are not drop in wickets which are in vogue across most of Australia where their flat pitch batters like khawaja and Warner shine only to screw up big time when it comes to actually facing a challenge sandeep, cowboysfan, vvvslaxman and 1 other 4

What if our team management told VCA ground staff not to comply after learning about the Aussie request ? Why blame VCA. VCA would have mentioned that... Now that even cricinfo has picked it up. So u know such thing is a matter of bad press all around. It's most likely a mistake... Or case of clear lack of communication.

bsriharsha Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 More worried about the delhi wicket. This is one pitch where the batsmen need to turn up and keep a good first innings total. If anything the wicket will die down and offer very slow turn it anything later on. sandeep 1

And after that Groundsman poured water on that. Only one party is at fault here & that's VCA coz of their Incompetence or poor communication or whatever you can call it. Either they should have straight up said no. You can be a di*k but not a cheat or worse at least. We don't know the actual communication details. Because these things involve separation of duties. Don't know who they talked to. Don't know who ordered it. I am sure it is nothing to do with making the life difficult for Australia. Some typical communication issue that you see in a common man's life. Unless we hear a response from VCA i am not going to take Healy's words or Australia's words. They can be sneaky in exaggerating certain things.

Even the original article that reported it, stated that the pitch was water almost right away after the test match completed - I am very skeptical that Australian team managed to "communicate" with the ground staff within minutes of the test match ending and informing them that they wanted to practice. Very likely that the ground staff assumed that once the test match is over, both teams are done and would be moving on. I mean, not trying to make excuses or defend anything, but there simply isn't any evidence that shows or even implies that somehow VCA or BCCI intentionally did this to inconvenience the Assies. coffee_rules, vvvslaxman and cricspirit 3

Well, for some here, Australia is a superlative developed sport country with centuries of honest heritage, while VCA BCCI has to be this conniving third world country set up deceiving a honorable team their one chance of the forbidden fruit. sandeep, speedracer and cricspirit 2 1

Cummins surely would not have backed down at the presser after that. He chose to play it down as he knew it was not deliberate... Its clear as day.

Not much of difference. The moderator to whom you replied is one of biggest holier than thou characters around. He can say no wrong, think no wrong. Also we filthy Indians only rat on each other like traitors that we are. We are sell outs who would avoid paying taxes, refuse to defecate in a toilet, hide our brownness and engage in tit for tat battles to settle old scores. I won't get into sporty nation debate Coz we all know the reality & also know Aussie are f***in cheats themselves (although I believe Kiwis & Saffers are worse) However I do believe its incompetence at VCA's part... One can't defend it. They are silent coz they know that as well. It's a good thing Aussie side didn't make a big deal about it. If they had BCCI probably had to respond in kind to VCA. coffee_rules 1
speedracer Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 One thing I like about Indian team post kohli is that we never complain about pitches. We play without making any formal accusations regarding pitch conditions. Other teams tend to whine a lot especially when they get butchered by us in India. That's one thing I really appreciate about kohli. I remember back in noughties, we complained against kiwis for dishing out ultra green tracks as they definitely doctored those pitches. They still do it even now but india never complain which is what I want to see. It's like winning grand slams. Got to conquer every pitch across the globe and not resort to making excuses like a child. Suck it up princesses. In India it turns. Period. Prepare to play spin. If anything rank turners can back fired on us badly like we saw in 2017 first test against Oz. Ideally I would prefer to see nice bounce and turn but it's understandable to see teams prepare pitches to suit their strengths. Funnily enough we cant play spin and it's actually our weaknes given our selections. Somehow it works only due to our pace and spin attack. We are carrying 4 passengers.

Saffers are massive tossers themselves.
