Brook = KP, and current root should be equal of trott at least. real issue is a replacement for cook, but I think one of duckett and crawley (both are inconsistent) can score in one of the 2 innings per test They really did well only in 2010-11 Ashes where Aus attack was pedestrian (Hilfenhaus was the spearhead) Brook is not a patch on KP lol Root has always failed in Aus,even during his dream run. Trott was forced to retire during Aus 2013 Ashes. He couldn't handle Mitch Johnson.Current Aus pacers are that quality.

Besides, as I wrote, Aus pitches are generally on flatter side. a lot of players have done well there and poorly elsewhere (like flashy gill) because there is very little lateral movement

But he is good against short ball so did well at Gabba. Aus pitches dont have swing but are faster and bouncier. Its a different challenge. They are definitely not pattas.
Kothili Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Somebody needs to get a big hundred and that will shutdown England.

I expect Aus to win 3-1 or 3-2, but it will be closer than before.
nitinbwj Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Aus playing for draw it seems. Absolutely dead batting by both. RR is 2.22
rageaddict Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 What boring batting by Australia. They are even unworthy of a retaining the Ashes here, were just lucky to win tight contests and saved by Rain. nitinbwj and Sgattick10 2
nitinbwj Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Pathetic Aus has killed this gane. RR 2.04 Labu 7 off 72 Sgattick10 1
Frustrated Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Blockathon specialist Labu Gone. Test will be entertaining again. Hopefully Vijy 1
rageaddict Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 (edited) Ek toh yeh Khawaja is sala super boring upar se Marnus bhi tuk tuk, maybe they have the plan to bring draw into equation as the weather forecast is bad for the upcoming days. Goal maybe is to secure a draw and win the series, now that Ashes has been retained. Edited July 28, 2023 by rageaddict

Conditions not that easy too so they want to be 100% safe and not loose match. Once in lifetime chance for most Australian players. Also this is just first session of 2nd day.
Sandz Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 You still need to score some runs even to secure a draw, Labu was too negative
LordPrabhzy Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 The weather forcast for Sunday and Monday is a washout... so no wonder Aus are slow. They have no intention of batting again . they want to win the series 2-1

vvvslaxman Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Khawaja gone. wow After 51 oves he leaves the crease for 47 runs. That is less than run an over from him.
