Will England continue after Anderson/Broad. 2021 attack that toured UK is arguably the greatest bowling attack Indian cricket has ever fielded since 1932. Stan AF 1

MechEng Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Honestly speaking, even before the series begun this Aussie batting lineup never inspired confidence to survive typical English conditions (grey skies with Duke balls seaming around), barring Smith in god mode. Always felt that the only way Australia can win in England is with Cummins/Starc/Hazlewood/Boland bowling out England consistently for <300 scores. But flat pitches and bazball easily negates that. Serpico Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Interesting stat: Smith doesn't have a 4th innings 50 since 2016! nevada 1

Khawaja and Head are in good form too so don't discard them easily. Aussies problem is that Warner and Marnus as always have been home bullies mostly. Vijy 1
AKane Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 (edited) Just looking at cricket these days - its not just India, all of international cricket seems infested with grandpas playing everywhere. right now there are a plethora of 35+ playing, give it a few more years and we will have teams regularly playing with 40+ year olds. If a young one does get a chance, he is likely to be a Ollie Pope type. Edited June 19, 2023 by AKane nevada and Vijy 2

For a period of 3 years we were dominating> But we didn't analyse enough what worked there and didn't come up with like for like replacement. We justed focused on pecking order. NOt a single tall bowler could be unearthed by us. Also Coach change. Wonder why they went Mambrey. Did they approach someone like Zaheer khan?
cowboysfan Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 advantage pommies, aussies don't have much batting left with a poor tail.

Cricket is increasingly becoming a profitable business. Players will want to stay relevant as long as possible. Not everyone is MSD to make 12 crores every year even after retirement. Anderson makes 830000 USD each year through ECB contract. AKane 1

That's great money still, you need to go to a med school to make that kind of money in the America.

Doctors do not make 830,000 USD in the US, even in elite hospitals or clinics -- I know quite a few. they do get fairly close to this value though

That's it. If Husband and wife both work they buy a million dollar house and an expensive car. If just one person is doctor they buy an expensive house and a good car.

I just hope he won't drag it out too much. A few years in the future, the decline will set in for Root as well, although not as steeply (he should be able to manage better) Root started rising in last 2-3 years only. otherwise, he was the worst among the fab 4 before that.

Bumrah is pretty much done, Shami is on his last legs, Thakur has lost 4-5km pace and looks out of steam quickly, Siraj is also older and blow hot, blow cold. Hoping for more heroic acts and miracles is the policy of BCCI. They don't have a vision nor a plan to improve and dominate.

Average is still around 400 500 k. GP If you can grind through 4 5 years of med school is the best and easiest job of all time. Set for life. You can still make 200 250 k for doing not much at all. Senior staff etc can make 500 k plus easy but it takes a while and when you are a senior staff engineer your basically a team lead. So that's FAANG companies. There are a few other tech ones that pay more. I know a few in this space. Also quant finance traders are the only ones who can clear 800 k plus but only the good ones. Average is still 400 k ish.
