Its high time Netherlands, Scotland and Ireland, Nepal etc become competitive and regularly play the Full member nations. I dont think Test status should be the goal of any associate considering the format will die soon. Instead invest in LOI players who may get picked up in T20 leagues which hopefully should feed into the quality of the national team. 2 Full members not even qualifying for a WC is shameful and shows the disparity in quality and international standards at the moment

We want variety in WC but quality at the same time

Although lost, NEtherlands gave Paksitan full side a run for their money in the  3 match series.

I hear Nepals long term goal is tests but no other associate wants that , infact at least two test full members don't want tests  . Scotlands reward for beating 3 full members is in the 20th July they have to play Germany in European qualifying for 2024 T20 WC , it's getting to an absolutely ridiculous situation cricket is in . Odi and T20 needs revamped urgently , wether it's a 14 or 16 team leagues but It can't continue in its present form when full members such as west indies, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe , Ireland get beat from an associate team in one calendar year

Off topic but do you really believe it will die completely? Ashes and series India plays vs Eng, Aus i think will always be there. All other test series i think will be gone maybe....at least that's what i believe.

Yes- atleast the Ashes might remain as an exhibition series which is not linked to the professional circuit.

Eng and Aus alone cannot sustain the format with BCCI disinterested in actually being an all weather good test team. Theres simply not enough revenue or will in the smaller countries for tests let alone a solid FC structure. Ranji itself is mediocre a best when it comes to producing international standard players

Next year's T20 WC event is a 20 Team tournament so all these teams that are currently missing out will be able to demonstrate their Skills on an International stage. T20 Format WC would be the ideal competition for weaker teams for now, ODI WC has no room to accomodate weaker teams which could lead to many one sided contests.

Agree but the WT20 shouldnt be very year or every two years. Thats overkill FGS! and makes the competition meaningless. It should be every 4 years

Not following this event based on the points table, the following have qualified:

SL

SCO v NED … where NED will have to beat SCO by a substantial margin to go past SCO’s NRR

Test cricket is easily self sustaining in England and Australia and sustained it on their own for 80 years

and India wont stop playing it still makes a lot of money

It will just continue to decline in south africa, pakistan, the west indies, to a lesser extent new zealand and sri lanka

Such a sad story for zim. They gave it their all but lost at the end

Their openers and lower order is crap. They ran out of steam after Williams and Raza failed in few matches. Scotland has many performers and their lower order is also very good. They added 50 runs thanks to lower order hitting something that BCCI XI lacks. I want Ned and Scotland to play lot more matches. They will beat the lodu team that we have regularly.

Scotland set to become the second team to qualify for the WC, barring a miracle.

Netherlands needs to chase down the target in or before 44 overs to improve their NRR and qualify.
