Mamaji worked well for MP, because MP is tbh not as polarized as UP is, muslim % is hardly 7-8% and there is not much impact of the caste as well...and people there still remember the atrocities done during the era of Digvijay Singh. I lived in Rewa and it was one of the worst cities in terms of road infra. Digvijay Singh & Late. Srinivas Tiwari used to capture the polling booths and used to do a lot of fraudiya voting. Arjun Singh was another useless fellow.

 

Congress actually has given up on MP, they don't have any face to fight on now. Kamalnath isn't popular anymore. 

 

Give Mamaji UP to manage and he will fail there.

Also he might be good at MP buy dont have Pan India mass appeal. He can alway be a good and honest soldier.

Vote share in indian democracy does not mean much unless you convert it in seats. In 2019 Congress had 32% vote share in Gujarat and this time India alliance had close to 34% . Seat tally 0 last 1 this time

vote share doesnt guarantee seats, true, but increasing vote share in an electorate you have negligible presence is the best indicator of growing your party's presence amongst the electoral base in every single democracy known to man. Our objective is to turn BJP into a true all-india phenomenon. The hindi heartland is ours. Bengal has made significant inroads over the last two election cycles, most of the NE is ours, this election Orissa fell to us ( albeit from a most trustworthy party that is essentially local-bjp), with significant vote share gained in the south & punjab. These are all good metrics to us in the whole india picture.
