I could be wrong, unfair to Dravid and SKY both, but I can’t help wondering if this “still learning” attitude of Dravid’s is a very Indian (or maybe subcontinent) thing?

 

I mean males here in their late twenties and even thirties are often thought of as kids, made excuses for, whereas in western cultures you’re expected to man up by the time you get to your early twenties (or even earlier).

 

is this why Sky is ‘still learning’ as per Dravid, even though Yadav is in his thirties and has played 26 ODIs?

Your last para sums it up.   This 'learning' thing is perfectly understandable if someone is in his early 20s and new to intl cricket.   SKY is already 32 and has played 26 games... If anything, his skill set (incl. Reflexes) are going to regress/slow down further with age.  On top of that, he averages 24 as a specialist batter with a SR of 100.   50% of his dismissals hv been against left arm spin (even mediocre left armer can get his wicket by serving pies).  His running between the wickets is very poor as well. (As evidenced in the entire series).

I was also supporting inclusion of SKY . But he is not good enough, what made him great in t20s was his lack of fear of failure.

 

All I saw is a guy who is afraid to fail.He has too many weaknesses for him to rectify ( left arm spin, left pace) at his age.

 

His only trump card was putting the bowlers under pressure from ball one and score 25 ball 50, make bowlers worry about his shot making ability than work on his weaknesses.

Aside from above, you can say he doesn't bring much to the table.

 

With Jadeja almost a certain in the XI, Axar doesn't bring a new dimension. He also has a known problem against the short ball which even weaker sides like the Windies have exploited. I am not fixated on Sundar or for that matter anybody else. I was exploring options on who else could be in the squad as Axar seems redundant with Jadeja being a certainty

Jaddu's batting & hitting ability is worse than a Tailender...  Only In India he is a world kilass LOI all rounder with a career S/R of 82 batting in finishing job.

Jaddu cannot bat before 8. Hardik at 7. Rana or Parag should have been groomed. Jaddu, Thakur, Pandya at 8, 9 and 7. Boom and Shami last 2. 6 may be a part time bowler who can bat. Rana, paragh. If Jaiswal can bowl leg spin he can be our 6th bowler.

ok - then why include Thakur? Take someone else. There are lots from Rana to Tyagi to Bhuvaneshwar to Mukesh to Unadkat.

 

Will be interesting to see Bumrah against Pakistan and Shami overall in this WC.

He will still play every game.

jaiswal and tilak can bowl, but are not given chances even in domestics

It's high time we kick SKY and Jadeja out of the team. They haven't done shyte despite playing numerous WT20s. In case of Jadeja he has been playing WT20 since 2009 and not even one decent performance with the bat. And SKY is a minnow and bi-lateral basher.
