Low life Samson fans are going on a rampage on Twitter , Reddit and straight up abusing poor Tilak Varma...

I like SS, seems like a likeable calm guy but his PR lunatics on social media are some of the most brain dead , victim complex ridden losers I've ever seen. Almost on par with the BD and pak fans who blame BCCI even if their donkey farts...

Dhawan,Chahal,Bhubaneshwar fans are also in full form.

Rahul and Shreyas fans are also going overboard about their selection

Tilka varma is rushed to ODI Setup. He's not even consistent in recent t20's after the rumour about his selection in probable ODI Asia Cup/WC teams on internet.

What next after Asia Cup, everyone will shout for Rinku singh addition into ODI WC team if Hardik "Motor Mouth" Pandya is exposed to be a 1st Class passenger.

Nothing wrong in including Rinku.I'm sick and tired of watching our lower order duds bat and survive for 10 overs.

Bad call I think too. But the Lack of left handed batsmen may have pushed this.

World cup is not the place to test new players

There are quite a few questions -

Who are the 2 openers?

Very few LHB options in the final 11. If there are makes the team weaker

No good keeper bat. We have bastmen who can keep and we dont know who is the first choice.

Pandya batting position not clear

Yusuf Pathan debuted in 2007 T20 WC final.

Ashwin had grand total of 5 or 7 ODI's before 2011 ODI WC

Pressure is immense in WC matches in which Indian team plays + Home WC is like a pressure cooker. 2007 T20 WC a complete inexperienced team sent to test waters in a new format, being fearless works in T20; When fear of losing added to the mix(current Indian team) you get 15 years+ wait for the next T20 Trophy.

Don't go blindly on current form.

Ashwin selected as a Mystery spinner at that time & he's a well established spinner for couple of IPL seasons. Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma has 1 breakthrough IPL season.

Ajay Jadeja directly played his first international match in world cup did well in first game. I think selection should be based on roles rather than flavor.  That is where Tilak's selection over Rinku is debatable.

While I agree what you said, but sometimes we need to try something out of the box when the regular seniors are carrying a baggage of knockout failures from last 10 years and get cold feet whenever they're in a tense situation.

Also, Tilak is a newbie..but Rinku has good experience in domestics and has been performing in IPL during whatever limited chances he gets. He performed in last year and in 2021 version as well.

People want Rinku Singh in the team , let assume for while he is a very good finisher, question still remains where will he bat?

He has one single 100 in list A cricket in 55 matches.

These guys are relucant bowlers even in List A matches. Same thing with Sundar, people want him in the squad based on some hope than his recent performances.

Sundar has played long enough to show he is incapable to being a lower order hitter and he does not take many wickets with the ball to be a difference maker there.Yes he has hit in some odd innings

Tilak is a legit batting talent, I would take a chance on Tilak at number 4 over Rinku Singh at number 6/7 in world cup anyday.

The selection commitee  has made a mockery of itself.Half fit players without any actual match practice are selected for Asia cup.

They have always known India is too dependent on Rohit and Virat and they didnt made any effort to select players for middle order.

It looks like they deliberately done it to include half fit superstar player into playing 11.

If Virat and Kohli are not in great form the Iyer,Rahul,Pandya,Jadeja ' s batting performance will be exposed badly

Asia cup itself is just match practice for the World Cup. It carries no value otherwise.

If they have to check KL's and Iyer's readiness for competitive cricket, there is no better way to do it than to have them play here.

There's always that one last minute selection of a player with little to no experience. Sometimes, it works, sometimes it doesn't.

2011 - R Ashwin (he had played just 7 ODIs before the WC)

2015 - Stuart Binny (nepo quota)

2019 - Vijay Shankar (Rayudu should have been there.. His poor form just before the WC opened the door for 3D Shankar)

2023 - Tilak Verma (Should have been Iyer if not for his injury)

Not denying what Tilak had..but Rinku is one of the rarest batters who has the ability to finish games...no one wants to bat at no 6 from India, IPL has all the Windies and Australian power hitters at no 6, from India currently Rinku is specialized in that role...Tilak is a designated no 4/5 material.

Rinku should bat at no 6..Hardik likes to bat in top 4/5..so does Tilak. Both can give you bowling cushion allowing Rinku at 6..Sundar can be a no 7 alongside Axar (assuming Jadeja is out from T20 and ODI setup).

100's don't matter for a no 6 batter, he has 17 50's in 55 games averaging in 50's and SR close to 93..that's good enough. Dude has an average of 57 in FC as well..so he is not someone who bolster his average due to not outs.

If Rinku bats at number 6, where will Pandya bat? Sorry he is not good enough to bat in top 5.He might want to bat in top 5 but he simply is not good enough to bat there.

Let us say Pandya bats at number 5, Rinku number 6.

You want Rahul/Wk to bat at number 4?

Batting becomes very weak.
