Pak has a decent chance of making it into Semis with SA & Eng dropping games to minnows. 

SA suddenly look beatable & have a razor thin lower middle order & longish Tail with Jansen at 7 lol... 

If they win against Australia I think they will sneak into Top 4 easily.

Pak's main issue is Shadab-Nawaz are not good and middle overs can be milked.

 

Hasan, Rauf, Shaheen are decent but they aren't extremely economical and can go for runs on their day. They don't have a Boult, Bumrah type who is wicket taking and economical. Naseem was that guy. So they don't have the guaranteed 20-30 economical overs we have with Bumrah, Kuldeep, Jadeja.

 

Pandya, Siraj, Thakur can get tap but also take wickets. Their pacers are on that level. Can take wickets but gets tap.

 

Also they can't remove one of Nawaz/Shadab cause then their batting is SA like with one of them batting at 7 and long tail.

I will be highly surprised (or rather shocked lol) if Australia manages to lose to Pak at Bengaluru.

 

This is not T20. Their spinners suck in ODIs big time and their best pacer is missing. Their lower middle order's tullebaaz batting can only work in T20 cricket. They can't be trusted against strong teams(155/2 to 191ao).

Usama Mir can bat a bit...  He did it in the 100...  I would drop Shadab & keep Nawaz who is a better bat & more economical.  You need a SLAO in India. 

 

Drop Imam & play Haris who is a hack though but they are going nowhere with Imam. 

Babri Masjid is brain dead to think like that though. 

 

Every side bar India/NZ has issues at this point.  Who clicks at the business end will matter.

lol no, they weren't even same level.

 

india sent u23s with 0 international experience. Pak sent experienced 30 year olds with international caps.

 

On the same level, there is no comparison. As seen with the main teams here. And the performance of the 2nd xis in Asian Games.

Ifti Chachu has some weakness against spin but he is one of their cleanest strikers against Pace. 

 

Australia Far more talented on paper but something  is off with them.   They need to drop either Marnus or Smith & push Marsh at 3 & open with Green to take on wayward Shaheen & Trundler Ali at the top. 

 

Chinnaswamy's small ground has evened it out a bit.  Leg lapadu Rizwan may smack a few here. 

Shafique looks quality against off spin so Maxi may not work.

Imam is doing neither.  Chinnaswamy is one place where you can be more dynamic for a change.
