See how he was ably supported by Cummins on the other end.

Jadeja screwed us twice by getting Dhoni run out in SF against NZ and Hardik against Pak.

Hardik in particular was in similar form and would have won that Pak game if not for Jadeja running him out.

Small things like this matter.

NZ game was mostly Dhonis fault.

1. if he was going to play at the pace he did. He should have promoted himself & other inexperienced batters like pant, dk  should have played around him. It was too ask pant, dk & other youngsters manage the collapse in such a pressure game. Had Dhoni promoted himself & guided the innings we might have had a better shot.

2. wasn’t Jaddu already out when Dhoni was run out? Anyways, most clutch players would have dived, Dhoni was way past his prime & couldn’t pull out a dive.

It wasn't a run,sky pushed it straight to the fielder and ran.

lol even commentators were blaming Kohli. It was SKY's call and Kohli was ball watching. SKY ran almost half a run in coming back.

Similar thing happened between Rohit and Kohli in Pak game but Kohli got saved after he was forced to run.

You are right but if you saw that innings Jadeja didn't stick around long enough.

In this innings Cummins didn’t take any risks, all he has to do is defend & take an occasional single. Maxwell did the heavy lifting.

Jaddu could have done what Cummins did today, but Dhoni had completely shut shop inspite of having the reputation of better batter than Jaddu. What was Jaddu supposed to do? Keep taking it to the deep knowing well Dhoni was going to do nothing?

Huh ...how ?

This was a dead rubber for Aussies. They were going to be 2/3 anyway for the semis regardless of the outcome of this game.

Come on man. 201* in a chase of 291 after 7 wickets were down for 90 odd is an unbelievablly great innings. Afghanistan probably has the best spin attack in this tournament.

175 in those days was unheard of. It was also a tough pitch apparently. This one died down soon after Maxwell came to the pitch

It was 60 over game. Glenn turner scored 173 in 1975.

They  had one bowler Kevin Curran. Zimbabwe we’re completely novice team. Afghanistan are test playing team.
There is no World Cup knock which is better than this in Odis.

It was painful to watch but this is  better.

Everyone knew Dhoni was past his prime at this point and it would be his last WC. He was punching way above his weight even in terms of skill. But Jaddu was in his prime at the time and was #1 all-rounder in the world if I recall.

Jaddu had to finish the game - but he didn't. If it was prime Yuvraj instead of Jaddu, he would have been blamed for not finishing the game.

Such are Indian fans. With selective memory. Dhoni only accelerated once Jaddu got out as the plan was to hold wickets from one end as the tail was absolute garbage at the time.

This is the same thing Jaddu did again with Pandya against Pak.

Again, not hating on Jadeja as he is a better bowler than batsman. But he caused a lot of collapses like this which made it impossible for Kapil type of innings to happen again.

Did he really say Jadeja ran out Dhoni? and Hardik would have won CT 2017?Wow some people are really delusional .

Hardik could have won CT 2017 absolutely if Jadeja didn't run him out.

The way he was middling the ball and the fact that Pak bowlers were weak at death bowling. There were a lot of spin still left which Hardik was bossing that game.

Wish everyone drinks what you have been drinking. What is Pandya's highest score in any format again? How many 100s has he scored in all formats combined again?

But he would have scored over 200 runs that day.

What was Kapil's highest score before than 175 again? Or Maxwell's form before today's innings?

Players like Hardik, Maxwell, SKY on their day will boss around opposition. It's just their style of play.

This is why they are always in the team even if team balance is off.

Either way, had Jadeja not run out Hardik that day he would have at least made a 140+ score. Imad Wasim wasn't even bowled and Shadab Khan was getting taken to the cleaners. There were well over 25 or so overs still left and Hardik was already in his 70's.

Kapil dev scored 100s in test cricket before that and after also so he had experience  of scoring 100s in some format.

Don't compare him with Maxwell. Maxwell has ability which Pandya can not even dream.

There is a reason why he has never even came close to 100 again in any format after his test 100. Maxwell has 3 t20 100 and has scored 100s in all formats.

SKY is legitmate batsman, Pandya is nothing but bits and piece player.

If Pandya was allowed to bat 5 times also he was not scoring 200 on that day.

Just saw the full highlights of Maxwell’s innings. He was dropped twice of dolly catches, survived a LBW given out on DRS which looked plumb in real time and some really in the slot crappy bowling.

as far as I know sure Kapils knock came against Zimbabwe but from what we hear it was chanceless knock.

I have seen better knocks than Maxwell Already. Fantastic knock definitely one of the best but O’Briens knock vs England in 2011 vs superior and overall context not in my top 20 in ODIs.
