We didn't need 2nd spinner and DK as batsman. KL could have played in middle. That is most underrated reasons for that loss.Bhuvi and Bumrah while did not take many wickets, they kept it tight but pressure was released by Pandya and then completely gone after Chahal started bowling. Frustrated
In 2019WC, we were too dependent on the top3 batters to take us home. MO was vulnerable and led by a "has been" Dhoni. Plus playing Bhuvi in the SF vs NZ was a mistake. Shami should hv played. Link to comment

sugumarrising
In 2023 it's total team work, every batsman is scoring runs, every bowler is taking wickets, thats not the case in 2019. cricspirit 1 Link to comment

Nikhil_cric
Last time, we had a strong Top 3 but we lost Dhawan and then we're dependent on Kohli and Rohit. This time , the Top 5 are well settled and batting superbly. Iyer, since Indore ODI, is averaging 70 + and at a strike rate of 113. Having a settled batting lineup who are all among the runs rather than just relying on 2 batters has been the difference. Edited November 16, 2023 by Nikhil_cric Link to comment
