Cricket pitches at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad are a tapestry woven with three distinct soils – black clay, red silt, and a blend of the two. Each soil type shapes the characteristics of the pitches, influencing how the game unfolds. Black Clay Soil Pitches Advantage: Better bounce, ideal for shorter formats. Impact: Supports pace and bounce, offering seamers assistance. Batsmen thrive on free-scoring opportunities. Red Silt Soil Pitches Advantage: Drying quickly, suitable for longer formats. Impact: Benefits spinners and slower bowlers as the match progresses. Creates challenges for batsmen with unpredictable ball behaviour. Mixed Soil Pitches Composition: Blend of black clay and red silt soil. Impact: Aims for balance, providing a fair contest between bat and ball. Tests adaptability of players. Link to comment

Or is it because India is hosting and BCCI is a powerful board, Aussies now think Cricket is a waste of time as they cant boss around the brown man anymore? lol Hardly, cricket really is a back seat sport in Australia, meaning its not the number 1 or 2 sport followed in Australia and not even when Australia dominated. Its always been like this. Even with the Ashes, its been the same way. Even when Australia won previous WC, there is never any celebrations that night or the next day. However when you compare that to AFL or Rugby, the main streets in the capital city where the trophy has been won, is a party atmosphere that night. Link to comment
Lone Wolf
Hazelwood ... How will Rohit & Gill negotiate him? Guy is relentless & unhittable early on. Rohit should go after Starc though @Gollum under lights he could be a nightmare Gollum 1 Link to comment

putrevus
Rohit has to hit Hazelwood out of the attack but it is not going to be easy.Gill and Rohit's techniques will be examined thoroughly. Aussies have played on pretty flat pitches but his economy is 4.67. Edited November 17, 2023 by putrevus Link to comment

First class
This has been the most eagerly awaited WC final for me , ever ( other than 92 WC when my team was in final ) . So much to look forward. Link to comment
dial_100
Bowl first. It is bit easy to bat second on this pitch. Its a different charm to slowly crawl towards the target and finally achieve it. Link to comment
Suhaan
Australia are definitely coming hard at India given its final They play their normal aggressive game and challenge opposition to make their move Our nervousness was exposed big time that night Australia will be itching to exploit it even more tomorrow Link to comment
Suhaan
Out of their 7 appearances in the WC Final Australia have lost only 2 ,there too they didn't go down meekly/surrender 1974 they ended up with 274 1996 set a target of 242 and actually got rid of Jayasuriya and Kaluwithrana early, but a Arvinda and Ranatunga played like magicians to see off Australian threat So,if one could summarise their WC Finals performances They are absolute beast who rarely make mistakes in Finals and it takes Herculean/Superhuman effort to take them on or beat them They always fight even if they are at tight spot and emerge victorious, never have they been gone down meekly in Finals They will come very very hard at India tomorrow no matter what Lone Wolf and SRT100 1 1 Link to comment
