mani sha
I hope team management gets sundar in as a batsman at 5 . yash , Rohit , gill , rahul , sundar , axar , bharat / jurel , ashwin, kuldeep , bum / siraj / deep Link to comment
fineleg
@mani sha That is a position where if we are 25-3, someone needs to come in and score a 100, or possibly 150 to guide the team to a total like KL Rahul did in SA. Washy can hold a bat yes, but is he a Test #5 batsman ? cricspirit 1 Link to comment

SRT100
Positions are packed and so to is arguably bowling as well. Sundar would only come in if two of Jaddu, Ash,Axar, Kuldeep are injured. India will go in with a 2 pace combination. tweaker 1 Link to comment
kosingh
In the few tests he has played, he has looked very solid with the bat. But his Ranji record with the bat is not that great. And he has been batting at 5 in Ranji. Link to comment
tweaker
Sundar main issue is his fitness .He has been given enough opportunity by our team.management Suhaan, SRT100 and cricspirit 2 1 Link to comment
Majestic
5 bowlers are enough. Bumrah Siraj Ashwin Kuldeep Axar/Sundar/Jadeja( at 6) That should be the rule. You have to play a specialist bat at 5 because we will have an A/R at 6, Keeper who can't bat at 7, Ashwin at 8 and three tailenders. tweaker 1 Link to comment
Soldier
I would go with this team; Rohit and jaiswal open Patidar and sarfraz 3 and 4 At 5 i would put jurel 6 sundar 7 jadeja 8 ashwin 9 kuldeep Akshdeep and siraj Rest bumrah. Premium bowler needs ample rest as he had to carry the workload of useless guys lile thukesh and axar. tweaker 1 Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
He is not a Test #5 . Should play only at #6 or lower . Link to comment

Gotta back him to come good. Either a pacer or Kuldeep has to make way imo. Link to comment
Vijy
on current batting form, he is like a no. 15 batter BacktoCricaddict 1 Link to comment
putrevus
Sundar is bits and pieces player like Axar.Unless his bowling has improved leaps and bounds where he is better bowler than Ashwin. He should not be part of Indian team. Axar is getting exposed once pitches stopped helping him. Edited February 13 by putrevus cricspirit 1 Link to comment

So often injured (after his clutch performances at the beginning of his career) have set him back a lot. He needs one full domestic season to regain his touch. I will never forget that imperious 6 off Cummins that launched the final Gabba assault!! As we'd say in Kannada, "maiyella jhummannatte." (= chills up your spine). Link to comment

cricspirit
NOOOOOOOOOOOO.... No.5 batter. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Let him make it to playing 11 first. Guy will break down after two games. I was his supporter 2 years ago. but I have moved on. Plus never thought him as a great batter. Just all round option. If he plays he comes after the WK. Not Bharat but a proper WK bat which is Pant when he gets back. Pant owns no.5 or 6 depending on combination. Link to comment

The Realist
Sundar is shite. He just appears good as never plays since never fit so there is always the what if illusion/aura around him. If he did ever play regularly most would be calling him to be axed as he is nowhere near international level quality in batting and bowling. Link to comment
