Jurel is better than Pant IMO as a keeper. Given Pant's injury history and his keeping (he can be good, he is never great/amazing at his best), i think we should play Pant as a specialist bat.

If Jurel is not in the XI for the Perth test, it would be an epic travesty.

But then again, he may actually find a place - when another senior sees how juicy the pitch is and decides his ankle hurts.

i am not expecting juicy pitches in Oz.  Why the hell would they give us juicy pitches, where Bumrah MAY work some magic along with our long tail ?? NZ showed how to beat us : make turners or roads and unleash Lyon. The no spin indian team will collapse and you can deal with a Bumrah that gets 10-6-20-2

Not sure they can make turners there. Our sooperstars struggle even worse vs pace as 36 and 46 tells.

Well i still believe in Kohli on pace pitches over spin pitches. At least at one point he was ATG on pace pitches, man was never even an Indian ATG on spin pitches.

They do make turners in Sydney when they want to - never against us, but against Enger-lund in the 90s and early 2000s, they'd make square turners and make Warney literally turn every all a foot outside leg to off stump.

Our stars struggle everywhere and on every type of wkt. You come up with a pitch and our seniors will show how you can struggle on it.

O M G. So u want only batsman who scores in clutch times dropped? :phehe: @zen @Frustrated @vvvslaxman @Vicks57

He never said anything about pant being dropped.  He wants pant to play as specialist batter.  And Jurel as specialist WK.  I agree with his idea.  I had also spoken about the same few months ago.

Yep replace sarfraz for jurel. No way he can survive the bounce in aus. Only problem is jurel needs more aggression. But that can only happen if top order fires or like nz series we r doomed

Yea ok. So u want two wkers. So pant is gonna field with all his injuries? No. That makes pant the keeper. So jurel has to play as specialist batsman. In CURRENT situation jurel can be better than failing batsman but he is not a type to get big hundreds in future.

Another very impressive 50 from Dhruv in the 2nd innings after top order laid eggs. Looked in good control on a difficult wicket against Boland.

Jurel should've scored a 100 here. He had the bowling at his mercy and gave it away with that slog. But a good innings overall and he looked our best bat by a mile.

He should be the the 3rd batsman on the team sheet after Jaiswal and Pant.
