vvvslaxman Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 Given the strengths and weaknesses of CSK and RCB, RCB has more than fair chance to get to play offs. But they will be castrated in the playoffs.

RCB will hope that there is a game on Saturday, so at least have a chance.. Funniest result would be if RCB win on Saturday with a margin of less than 18 runs. Will be a meme-fest

Will be a meme-fest Given the south african nature of RCB it may very well happen. There was a match similarly in 2007 where SOuth Africa just had to lose gracefully to India to get to next round. But India humiliated them so far that they run rate took a hit and they got knocked out.

Nikhil_cric Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 As straightforward as it can get for RCB. Win by 18+ runs or chase in 18 overs. Forever Indian 1
Vk1 Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 really hope RR is not the NZ/SA of IPL. Barely two consistent quality teams in IPL and one is already regressing fast. Don't want RR too to be just the league level team.

Buttler was poor but at least won a couple of games with his 100s. Hope Jaiswal picks up some form now, leading to the WC.

They need Jaiswal and Jurel to do better in the play offs. They might consider opening with Jurel and Jaiswal, and drop Cadmore for Maharaj Gollum 1

goose Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 every year the points table end up being a manufactured farce. once again 5 teams in the middle, having won as many games as they have lost, fighting to make the play-offs. the fact this year comes down to net run rates and rain is not some amazing twist, it's a design flaw
vvvslaxman Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 All 10 rankings perfectly justified. Especially 1st and 10th.

Will be interesting to see who meets RCB in the qualifiers. If they play RR, I back RCB to beat them at Ahmedabad. If SRH lose tomorrow, they play RCB at Ahmedabad, I back SRH to win that.

Ahmedabad will be a flat pitch and SRH openers can steamroll RCB again. They can beat RR in either place, so best bet for SRH is to lose tomorrow
