MAYANK YADAV .... EXPRESS and bouncy Indian pacer who is accurate too

Mayank is neither fast, nor being accurate.

How the hell someone can let go of their usp so soon ? Mavi did the same when he tried to become Bhuvi 2.0 and in process ended up garbage like 1.0

Munaf Patel let go of his pace and he became a generic line and length bowler who was bashed to all corners of the ground. Picked up 7 wkts in first test and then only 28 in remaining 12.

RPS, Pathan all have been victims of the same, lost their pace and lost their place. Even Sree was at his best when he was closing 145.

Mayank's legacy at this point is those 3 IPL matches he played last year.

I think people are being very harsh on the guy.He is coming off major injury and by even looking on TV you could see so many issues with his run up .His final release is not right either.

It takes time to trust body after any injury, LSG were in desperation mode so I feel they did rush him back.

Let him get healthy and stay injury free before judging him.

More than harsh, it's the fear and dissapointment of him turning into Mavi or Munaf.

Munaf won us a home test against England, an unwinnable Odi against saf in saf and was one of the key bowlers for us in wc 2011 including the final.. he was not that bad… mayank will be fine.. he has the best support system in cricket in the world plus franchise support..

Mavi was never this express.neither was Munaf , he was 140s not like this guy. To me this guy really was I would say really first genuine express bowler from India.I don't rate Umran that high so I don't count him.

You need captain and system who understand fast bowling also. That is why I fear the influence of Zak.

Fab four were to me were the bane for Indian fast bowlers. They preached bowlers more line and length than anyone else IMO along with biggest culprit Dhoni. No fast bowler could be groomed while they were playing.Munaf like many others were victims of those geniuses.

I may ask you to watch KKR's games in IPL 2018 featuring Mavi, for his tender age he was clocking 145+ regularly, reaching 149+

Many comments on calling Mayank has been and washed up already are exactly the sentiments shared by many in cricketing fraternity including selectors and coaches and that is why India have never been able to develop express fast bowlers.

Fast bowling is hard work and most fast bowlers suffer from major injuries.IMO Indian cricket is ready to reap the benefits and want express fast bowlers but they don't want to deal with the injuries and growing pains of those fast bowlers.

By chance if one good fast bowler emerges he is overworked to death.

I did and bowling 145 and bowling 155 are two different things.

There are some factors that you cannot "develop". One is bowling really fast and another is running really fast. There may be others in say the great sport of boxing.

You can either bowl really fast >  150 kmph or you cannot. You can run really fast i.e sub 10 second 100 mtrs or you cannot. However it cannot be developed. You can lose it due to injuries but you cannot go from 145 kmph to 150+ with coaching. Either you have it or you don't.

If India can stop messing with action - in hope to prevent injuries - that is good enough. They have ruined many a good bowler like Pandurang Salgaonkar who twice injured Sunil Gavasker with fast bowling till they messed with his action for some reason. He was not even injured AFAIK.

You meant Mavi was not quick, and Mavi was just 18-19 then

Someone who's just 18-19 and clocking almost 150 is indeed express for his age

What I meant by developing is able to help young fast bowlers thru their growing pains. All fast bowlers need that support that is what enables them to develop their other skills .

Mayank can bowl express pace but he got injured so now he is bowling at lower speeds after coming back from injury.Everyone involved should be helping him in regaining his speed and confidence.

Majority of young fast bowlers are getting lost in system. That is where system needs to be sympathetic with growing pains of young fast bowlers.
