need to back team:

Why? When the management and players care for nothing but PR and brand to bring more money, instead of supporting talent and youngsters, why do fans need to back team?

If every team plays up to their full potential India will be eliminated second round. But generally that doesn't happen. We have a few chokers in the ICC. So i won't be shocked if these guys get to semi finals where they will crash and burn.

Rohit (C) - Captain, irreplaceable liability

Jaiswal - Gamble due to the immense potential + left hand opener

Kohli - Celebrity status + ensures India making attainable scores for opposition by capping RR

SKY - Mr 360, on his day....

Samson (WK) - On current form + ability, overtakes Pant + plenty of lefties to follow

Dube - far better batsman than Pandya + equally bad bowler

Axar - batting/bowling allrounder

R Jadeja - fielding/bowling allrounder

Kuldeep Yadav - Brill

Bumrah - Brill

Arshdeep - Lesser of two evils!

that's about the best we can field with current limitations, but that's too many spinners IMO.

Why is Pant in that 11 when Samson is a better T20 player than him?

Left handed, also more experienced in international cricket. Obviously if Pant fails for a few games, no brainer get Samson in. You can play both if you open with Rohit & Kohli.

Semifinals is not a guarantee with OZ and WI in our group, most likely. The other team being one of SL/BD

Can we beat WI? Not sure we can. They are a real threat at home and their curators will , rightfully, prepare a pitch that suits them

OZ and NZ will be in Indian Group , not WI.

NZ is C1, WI is C2.

Ind ( A1) , Australia ( B2) , NZ ( C1), BD/SL ( D2) . That will be the Super 8 Group where India will play after qualifying from round 1.

Pak, Eng, WI, SA will be the other Super 8 Group.

If only one has to play then it should be Samson based on being a better T20 batsman than Pant so far. Its ok to play both and drop Kohli and Rohit but that won't happen.

As far as the international experience is concerned it is overrated in T20 and is used to protect the players who has done zilch in last 10 years in this format. Ofcourse BCCI needs to protect the sponsors as well as they have invested so much commercially on these guys. In T20 novelty plays a big factor and if somebody is experienced and known entity then the opposition will get him unless he is an extremely versatile and smart player. We have none of that in Rohit, Kohli, Jadeja and Chahal. And then we have some quota to get Pandya on top of that.

Oh yes. The Wikipedia page keeps getting edited and at one point it showed WI as C1 and AFG as C2.   Regardless, NZ won't be easy to beat either.  In fact, I'm not sure we have ever beaten them at the World T20.

However, it might be easier to beat them than WI if they have all of duds like KW, Conway and Bracewell in the XI which could tilt the scales in our balance just a bit.

I've come to realize Kohli is much less of the problem than useless Rohit and Pandu.....

Esp Rohit - he is the biggest issue being captain also and dead weight ....
