What will it take to make the BCCI revisit the T20 wc squad?

Title says it all especially in the backdrop of the mauling SRH handed to LSG. It should be a wake up call for the selectors and TM about what to expect in the WC when there is still time and a chance to make a course correction. Is there a SM campaign or some way we can sound them out and keep them from writing off another ICC trophy?

They won't. They have sponsorship money riding on Kohli, Pandya, Rohit, Jadeja. Not sure why Chahal got included but probably he does something for the gang behind the curtains.

 

But in one way I am happy. This time BCCI will get screwed. Karma calling.

Hopefully the likes of Bangles and Afg or even SL don't surprise us either. The Windies bowling is also pretty weak.

Nature of the format is such where a minnow always has a decent chance of surprising a stronger team on paper on any given day.

Only injuries will force the selectors to make changes, else coach and captain are happy with the mediocre avengers that they have assembled.

Based on what? Laxman is even worse than Dravid! We've somehow gone back to the age old ways of dynastic ruling or monarchy, where folks are born into roles instead of merit.

Harry Tector and Josh Little can cause severe problems for India.

I can't think of a single scenario where the selectors will reconsider.

 

Our entire cricketing ethos is based around picking specialists .

 

As long as we don't develop batting allrounders , we are doomed.

Selectors should be made accountable. If the team fails to make it to the final, they should all resign.

Not enough,need to completely change the rationale of the loi side by completely weeding out stone age strategists to senior players from the lineup

Complete shakeup is needed,you can see some Indian kids coming of age in their franchise setup with foreign counterparts

Those same will turn into timid consolidators as this is one popular notion in Indian cricket circles

IMO Abhishek may already be learning that lesson. He played T20 the way it should be played and any other country would've fast-tracked him into T20s but here he isn't even considered! What do you think will happen if he continues to get ignored? He'll start playing for his averages. Same with Rinku as he'll try to bat up the order to score more runs as somehow the number of runs or averages mean much more than impact in Indian cricket. Parag will start doing the same as his SMA exploits didn't lead to anything. In Indian cricket "consolidation" and averages is all that matters and the selectors & team management still think on similar lines as KL, i.e., SR is over-rated

This is what bothers me. Ireland will have their tail up because they have a point to prove - it is the first match on June 5 and hopefully the Indian team has got over the jet lag.

 

Any jet lag, tiredness etc and this match will give us trouble......

 

The players that are not playing the IPL final/semifinals should leave earlier.

We have been getting screwed for long time in T20I Wc, what has changed? nothing. They will keep doing what they want as long as the money keeps flowing, only thing that will make them change is money.
