Ireland is a sporting nation. They have that Aussie kind of fighting attitude. Its just that cricket is not popular sport there with not enough money and England poach many of its good players. Given some funding, they can be a very good team.

Have fallen behind likes of Dutch and Scots in the format but yes after Dutch they have what you call sporting culture. 

That McCarthy run out pf Shadab is pure example...  Peak fitness and skill.
