The Shocking Decline of Indian Cricket - Frustrated!!!!

I'm incredibly frustrated seeing the likes of Rohit, Kohli, and Jadeja still hanging around after 10 years of failures in big tournaments. Even the IPL franchises, like Mumbai Indians, had the foresight to remove Rohit as captain, but the Indian team management still clings to this outdated hero-worship. These "3 idiots" have had zero impact so far in this tournament. We're basically playing with just 8 players and somehow winning (against weaker teams) despite this rubbish.

The ICC practically hands us an easy schedule to ensure we reach the semifinals, only to crumble against tougher opponents. When India inevitably loses, the world media swoops in with sympathy, painting us as the second-best team that just had an off day. I've been following cricket since the 90s, and I must say this is the lowest point for Indian cricket when it comes to winning big tournaments.

I've already mentally prepared myself for India coming back home without the cup again. How long is this wait going to be? Can India ever win a World Cup again?

India is not winning anything with these over the hill TTFs Rohit, Kohli, Jadeja, Chahal in the team. They've never shown up when it mattered and don't think things are likely to change now. Prepare yourself for "one bad day", "30 poor minutes", "unlucky on the day", "we've nothing to prove" comments after the inevitable failure after another no-show from likes of Rohit, Kohli & Jadeja.

With youngsters at least you can hope someone like Jaiswal or Abhishek plays a blinder. But with our current "seniors" you can't even expect them to last PP, forget about scoring at a fast pace and put up a big score.

Indian maharathis do not like to step down from positions of power. You see this in politics everywhere in the world, but for India it is in every sphere, especially cricket. Tendu had to be dragged out cricket after pissing for 2 years. Same with Chokohli, Fat Bastard and Sirji. If they have their way they will play until they go to their graves, in this case lit up on their funeral pyres!

India beats the team put in front of them. They are a good team. Pakistan is a poor team though what do you think about them? But then given that their society is intolerant, they kill and destroy minorities, they are bigoted it must be no surprise that they are declining inevey facet of their society. Pakistan must be the most pathetic and hypocritical society in the planet I think its due to their bigoted backward people basically. OK bye :)

Lol small mercy was the man in your pfp choosing to call it a day because of the COVID lockdown. Else we were forced to carry him for the 2021 T20 wc too if he hadn't done it.

Agree with this guy, we are lucky that we are still winning in T20s with our daddus like ROKO, Fraudeja, and the likes of Shivam Dumb-hai. My worry is we will get badly exposed against Aussies & England, same rinse repeat $hite. 

 

Wait for another year & a half for another trophy.

T20 is nt right format to assess Ind , it was never their format. In all those years since 2007 only SKY is t20 batter.

 

Ind never invested in T20 batters, hitters ,ppl call them hecks not able to play test cricket etc...

T20 is different game, all good t20 that have ever been are not good test sides. WI would not last 50 overs but they are best t20 batting side.

Eng changed the way play they are trying to get t20 style of batting in Test too. Aus has changed they are not getting batter who are pleasing on eyes in T20s.

Stoinis, Marsh, even Head are not particularly technically that good or pleasing on the eyes but are powerful hitters.

 

You need hitter and batters who can play all those modern t20 shots- Ind lacks there big time.  Neither they have t20 template right nor they have exceptional t20 players.

 

Ind is alright in test the decline in recent time is due to the current TM who has not focused on building the team and longterm planning, Ind kept to losing pace bowlers in test and they just included Siraj since then,

Batters like Rahane becoming VC of the team playing at 5 with avg. under 40 never thought that would happen to Ind batting line-up and he is specialist test batter.

 

In bowling either you have to be lucky if you can find mystery bowler and some1 like Pathirana/Malinga.

 

Think it was 2016 T20 wc where ppl were cherishing kolhi and dhoni winning the matches by just taking single/double/3s never realizing this should be finished early with 4/6.

Dhoni played at 5/6 in t20 with SR under 120 most of his career.

 

Ind lacked foresightedness for t20, kept playing old style cricket. Ind may reach the final and may also be able to win it but are they good t20 side.

Pak also played SM and Finals with same approach where there bowling and some major luck helped them but are they good t20 players ??

Aside from their fast bowlers would some1 pick their batters in their t20 side, not just t20 side will their batter make into some1s Odi side ???

 

Opposition goes pass 320 score Pak batter does not even try , only Fakar throws his bat around a bit. We saw this in this 2019 WC, they were not getting upto par scores.

 

Need to play proper t20 batters in t20s which is difficult as for IPL money no big star would like to sit out of Ind t20 side.

With all the resources Ind should be able to get on top of all 3 formats and win major cups as they do in bilateral.
