Then we'll have better idea. Fair enough but I don't recall even one single decision made by Dravid where his intellect shone through. Does anyone remember that IPL season where he was the mentor/coach of RR and the team was crushing it. Then Dravid started his "experimentation" and RR started losing and their qualification depended on the last game against MI. IIRC MI needed to chase 190 odd in 15 overs or so and they did by one of their fringe batsmen hammering a 6 to knock RR out. That was all Dravid and 2023 WC pitch fiasco was quite similar. And I distinctly remember Dravid backing and recommending Karn Sharma for a tour of Aus, and he was utterly mediocre. I repeat, Dravid may be a nice person but leaves a lot to be desired as far as strategy or eye for talent is concerned. No wonder he was the captain in 2007 WC when a fairly decent team failed to get past group stage. After the recent Eng series Dravid himself said that they were forced to pick Jurel because of selectors. That show his vision and eye for talent. Good person - Yes, a cricketing mind - No. Kron, Gollum and express bowling 3

Good person - Yes, a cricketing mind - No. 100% agree. He is not a good coach. I am sorry. Average at best. Tactically isn't shrewd. Backs wrong players. Got lucky cause Indian team is so strong You see we always had top talent for t20. We just never took it seriously for some reason and never really played the right players. I have said this in 2019 2020 itself. If india puts their best t20 players then india win the icc tournament easy in both odi and t20 In odi we are very strong too but again, due to injuries and backing of old washed up has been cost is the final. It's simple truth. In tests too. Same thing applies. If india select on merit, I don't see any team stopping india. As it is we are always top 2 anyway in tests. Dravid failed badly in tests. No notable wins under him barring the drawn series in SA. Thrashing of England was expected at home. Only some retard*s here were claiming how English will vanquish India's lmao with bazzball approach. Yea right. That too pant and I think shami dint even play. You were talking about ODIs earlier. Anyway, bother confirming before talking. https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/suryakumar-yadav-446507 That's not a 30 average batsman. Further, his IPL and T20 performance showed his capability. TM just decided to go with proven quality over just records. 10 hours ago, Ultimate_Game said: sticking with KS Bharath till he was literally forced by selectors to go with Jurel. And how many titles RR has won since? There's a reason teams like RR,RCB,DC,PBKs struggle season after season despite changing coaches. The team structure is not great and they make poor decisions. This season they were looking great but again made some 'experiments' and lost again. Was that Dravid too? Pitch fiasco was nothing similar. And pitch is not the only reason we lost. Were 80/2 on same pitch in 10 overs. Can't just get 240 from there irrespective of coach. 12 hours ago, Ultimate_Game said: And I distinctly remember Dravid backing and recommending Karn Sharma for a tour of Aus, and he was utterly mediocre. Nice people don't make good leaders. He couldn't stand up to people in his tenure. Chappell walked all over him.

Great post, just one clarification, Sachin never cried about it, he was asked a specific question in an interview and he replied truthfully that he was told a different plan and was told declaration was after X overs. . Also we won with 2 over of day 5, so an entire day was left(88 overs), so that decision made no difference at all except virtue signalling. Indians have a habit of targeting others feeling it will somehow make their own player greater. And I can understand the resentment of Dravid always being in Sachins shadow. However you don't need to put down one legend to praise another, this is the reason why Dravid gets hate from some people. P.S. it was clear to every man and his dog that the 194 decision was Chappels so it's funny when Dravid fans try to give him credit. We saw as coach that Dravid never made a single brave decision but played it safe both with players and strategy. Edited July 16, 2024 by New guy MumInd 1

Marshall umesh would have been better than siraj in India too. In India we have a habit of confusing meekness and sacrifice with greatness. He is a good person personally, no doubt about that, but he definitely took India backwards in tests after Kohli and shahstri had created a more agressive India where we won even at home with fast bowling. Under Dravid we went back to doctored pitches at home. He also follows the safe approach with same seniors instead of encouraging aggresive youngsters. Being safe and meek is what we did throughout our history. Kohli and Shastri had set the team in the right direction but we have gone back. Edited July 16, 2024 by New guy Kron and Ultimate_Game 2

He should have gone for a 300, maybe even Lara's record...India could have scored 1000 runs in that innings alone. Big missed opportunity, because we won the test so comfortably in the end (3.5 days in total). We dominated RSA like crazy in those 3 tests, scary good. Kron and New guy 2
