Yesterday when Vinesh won SF and the way India dominated Germans in first quarter. Feels like ages ago.

At that point we had a genuine shot at 3 gold medals. 2 now blown up in dust

This will affect the entire contingent.

Neeraj and Vinesh are very close friends.

Maybe you have to be in weight class on both days to be eligible for silver. They may have thought of such loopholes beforehand. Weight cutting is as ancient as the sport in Olympics.

She was overweight in evening of Tuesday. If she would have weighter just after reaching finals and realised she was 2kg overweight she could have just said she is injured and needs medication. Simple. Issue is i m sure the organisers immediately weigh you after the bout to make sure you dont game it

Modi has spoken to PT Usha to explore whatever options we have and register protest.

If she's overweight, then she's overweight. What can any protest do?

We cant sulk, need to move on.

Indian embassy should have taken her today morning, arranged doctors and drained 150g blood.

Pretty sure there are very qualified doctors related to sports etc with the contingent.

But yeah, should have taken some emergency measures overnight to at least safeguard her silver medal. Shouldn't have weighed in before ensuring she is 50 kg. Silver going away is a big big setback.

I am at the loss of phucking words. I am enraged and angry like hell. There must have been something that we could do to save the Silver medal. Rushed her to Hospital and declaring her severly injured. Aaj ki hi to baat thi.

Let's be honest, she was never going to get any support from your government in any ways

She's one of our most pampered Olympics athletes of all time. Govt has spent crores on her ever since 2016. Even after her protests they got her a foreign coach and foreign training.
