We will see what happens in 4, 8 , 12, 16, 20 years from now. I know many Indians didn’t even rate Nadeem prior to today and were saying Pakistan might get a bronze because the gold was Neeraj’s birthright and then some European athlete would take silver. In the Olympics history, crazier things have happened and there’s currently serious efforts being made in Pakistan to improve in sports other than cricket, that’s also why we made the second round in football World Cup qualifying for the first time in history, there’s definitely a lot of synergy.

Even today, read the posts in the morning, Indians   were aware of the Nadeem threat and was hoping that Neeraj should not lose a to him. Aakhir wohi hua.

It was always a probability if Nadeem and Peters could hit close to their best.

I think comparisons to other sports doesn’t make much sense but as of right now Neeraj is more like 2012 Andy Murray, he’s talented and has had success but a big part of his brand is that he’s the premier athlete of a huge country that traditionally hasn’t done well at athletics. It’s also why Pakistanis rate Nadeem so high cause we’ve never had anyone like him. Djokovic is a beast in a whole ‘nother category because the Balkans have always produced great tennis players.

Should have added that it is an imperfect comparison that is not like for like.

In terms of Javelin both are right up there so it doesn't matter what Indians and Pakistanis think.

Lol Pakistan isn't winning a swimming medal for the next 50 years.

She got a universality place and finished behind some 15 year old Indian kid (who herself had a universality place).

Squash like I said Pakistan is nowhere plus no women's/mixed teams.

Women's cricket not possible.

Men's maybe but due to continental spots might not get a spot.

If it's a 6 team event it will be

Host country, Oceania, Europe, Asia, America, Africa

If squash were introduced Egypt would sweep all the medals.

lol this is pretty cringe but i think he’s probably a Gujjar like most Pakistani cricketers have been.

We have a clean record except that 2018 unlike cricket where we lose to every tom dick and harry in the knockouts.

Australia and England are tom dick and harry?

NZ,SA,WI are. Tbh India should dominate Australia and England post 2020. But they haven't

WI are two times T20 WC champions. They aren't TDH in T20s. SA is as strong as Aus England.

The Hindi Hockey commentators I listened to in this Olympics are 100x of any Indian English or Hindi cricket commentator I have ever listened to.

Not just energy, passion but great technical and tactical insights. No goofing around, they draw the viewers in, even first time watchers will learn and love the sport listening to the commentary.

I think we all noticed last time that Arshad needed to fix his technique during Tokyo & that he has a monster throw in him.

As per reports he was being trained overseas with best of facilities and coaches & no wonder he set up a OR.

Tough luck Neeraj.   This Olympics is cursed smh:facepalm:

This Nadeem looks physically giant as well. One thing which goes against Neeraj  he has never touched the 90 meter mark. Probably he should try to work towards stretching his limit.

Player limitations will mean they won't.

Squash is coming next time.

They should have at least 3 from the country if they go by how TT/Badminton works at the Olympics. Enough

players can have their limits. It's like asking bumrah to bowl 160 kph.
