Actually most of the funding Gujarat gets goes towards building the sports complex for potential Olympics bid.

Otherwise Harayana is way ahead in terms of academic funding it gets in sports and rightly so.

Except Dutch, Argentina, female hockey teams are neglected. Even Aussies don't give their women's side much importance compared to men. 

 

So the field is shallow, if we invest it is much easier to break through and medal. There is a reason why we did so well in Tokyo, China here, Ireland being runners up in women's WC in 2018. Same Ireland which didn't qualify to this Olympics.

why is karnataka getting double funding than Haryana.. what the hell are their sporting achievements in Olympics?

Its there in LA 2028 but only in 6 events. So, yes it may not be there in future Olympics.

But USA has stopped funding its Greco programs, biggest indication of shift coming.

Greco is a classical (albeit boring) form but no use in MMA. All MMA wrestlers have freestyle or sambo background. With MMA being the fastest growing sport, Russia's diminishing influence, there is more chance of BJJ becoming a part of Olympics than Greco continuing. BJJ's problem is unregulated doping at highest level competition and their unwillingness to tackle that.

If they have 12 medals for men's FS, same as that of women, India will have more representation n medal chances.
